Why does God transform some people faster than others?

Why some people go from being complete sinners to the stage of unity super fast, like months, while some people go through purgation, illumination and if ever reach unity in decades?

What is God trying to say with that to them?

I believe it has to do with how much the person is willing to surrender to God.

Many people hold things back out of fear of change.

God patiently waits for the person to be ready.

It’s up to God where He calls us to.

Surrender means surrendering to His will, whatever that may be and it’s not always religious life.

The parents of St Theresa of Lisieux, Louis and Marie-Azélie Guérin are an example.

Both had entered religious life, but were eventually turned down. They ended up meeting, getting married and becoming the parents of one of the greatest saints in the Church.

God will take people to Sainthood as quickly as they want to get there. He certainly isn’t going to stop you if you want to become a Saint. But for most of us it’s a gradual process.

Also, many people look like they have a super-fast conversion, but maybe they don’t inside. Maybe it’s a “flash-in-the-pan” or a “fad” that will wear out. You can’t ever tell how deep these things go.
