Why does only the Father know the end?

What does Mark 13:32 mean?

“But of that day or hour no man knoweth, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.”

I thought Jesus knew everything the Father knows because He is a person of one God. What does this mean?

I don’t want to know when, I want to know why this verse says the Son doesn’t know when. There are many on these forums far more educated in theology and church doctrine then I am. Maybe someone with a better knowledge on what is taught about the Holy Trinity and a better understanding of the context of the verse will be able to make sense of it. Sometimes verses that confuse me are easily explained by others with a translation issue and reference to another verse where the same greek is used.

Some say He really didn’t know as in His human nature
Others say He knew, but not with a knowledge He
could communicate, as it would change history.

JWs use verse to deny Christs divinity

Well I hope somebody can enlighten us both.
From Catholic Answers:

"The Catechism of the Catholic Church says: “By its union to the divine wisdom in the person of the Word incarnate, Christ enjoyed in his human knowledge the fullness of understanding of the eternal plans he had come to reveal. What he admitted to not knowing in this area, he elsewhere declared himself not sent to reveal” (CCC 474).

Yes this is an example of taking a verse out of context or by itself instead of the full story. There are other passages where Jesus asks: who touched me? or who do people say I am? as if he did not know but that is not the case.

Something I read recently (probably from CA) was that Jesus most certainly knew (and knows) the time. In it was something along the lines of, “If He could tell us what would happen, why would He not know the when?

I wish I remembered the name of the article. It was very informative.

Selective revelation? Surely, I don’t think a human body could hold omniscience.

I think He’s saying that God knows, and that He while human did not have access to the information at least in human nature.

Rather than a concise theological points about the Trinity.

Indeed He is God for a reason.

The mystery of the Trinity is not within our mortal comprehension, therefore the authority of the Father in relation to the Son (our savior) is not something we can define with authority. However, we do have sufficient information to trust in the truth of the triune God, by the words of Jesus and His apostles.

All we need to understand is the corporeal manifestation of God, Jesus, acquiesced to the Holy authority of the Father and leaves us in the comfort of how the Holy Spirit for guidance.

Well, one could consider this…

Could you imagine what would happen if Jesus said: Amen, I say unto you, the Earth shall be destroyed 5,000 years from now. We see all of the problems that beset the world now, imagine a 5,000 year “license to party” so-to-speak.
