Why does the Church accept evolutionism?

If the Church accepts evolution, how does it justify God’s Word that He (God) created everything? Is this just a myth or fairy tale in the eyes of the Church? Even as a non-Catholic I still look to the Church for answers and this truly bothers me as I am a creationist. I do not believe that we sprang up from nothing. If God is God and He formed us from the earth as the bible indicates, how does the Church refute this?
