Why does the Church not make a stand?

First - be very careful when you say THE CHURCH. THE CHURCH is the Bride of Christ, and she has never been weak on morals and values. There are, however, people within the Church that make very bad decisions and are allowed to do so. THAT is what needs to be fixed.

If every single Catholic lived their lives as Catholics, according to the teachings of the Church, then these sorts of things would not even happen. They need to stand up to society and not allow this sort of garbage in. And it appears, according to your article, that in some cases that is happening, and that’s what this guy is crabbing about.

You are not alone in your confusion. 😛

This article is all about the Catholic schools in Canada refusing to allow the formation of Gay-Straight Alliance groups in their school. Nowhere in the article does it even mention that there were such groups in existence at the Catholic schools there.

Hopefully that makes the OP feel better about our Canadian Catholic brothers nad sisters. :o
 
From what I understand the Catholic church has allowed these club’s they just can’t have the word gay in there title…lol
 
I would like to point out that there is a valid place for homosexual support groups within Catholic Schools. It is simply a matter of these groups supporting and promoting chastity according to Catholic morality.

This is of course, not actually a simple matter, but a legitimate need for system of support given to a group that receives extremely mixed messages.
