Why does the Communion wine have to be alcoholic?

To clarify, neither Orthodox calendar will, whether they use the Julian (Old Calendarists, and many individual parishes) or the Revised Julian (most of the individual Orthodox communions do officially, even if dispensations are granted to parishes). I don’t believe any Orthodox church, at least none that I have heard of, uses the Gregorian (modern, Western civil) calendar.
I believe it’s the Finnish Orthdox Church that uses the new calendar. Also, it’s common for some jurisdictions in North America.

I get the biggest kick out of the thoroughly anti-western ethos in Orthodoxy that created the Revised Julian Calendar just so it did not have to adopt the Gregorian calendar.
Let’s see, the Revised Julian calendar is the same as the Gregorian calendar until 2800 - then it gets less accurate. The level of anti-Catholicism in Orthodoxy is always an eye-opener.
