Why does the law say that when a child is aborted it is not a murder, but when a mother is pregnant and shot the murderer s charged with two murders?

i have been wondering about this for a long time

why does when a pregnant women walksinto a planned parenthood clinic or an abortion clinic and have her baby aborted, the law sees that as not a murder, even though in our catholic faith abortion is always murder…and it is…but when you hear on the news or else where if a pregnant woman is shot or killed the murder is charged with two murders and they call the baby inside of the pregnant woman a baby, but o boy when a pregnant woman walks into a abortion clinic that baby is called “just a bunch of cells”…??? weird how that works isn’t it…

It is strange. It is bizarre how our society has become.

The current laws are written explicitly to protect the woman’s choice. If she chooses to terminate pregnancy, the law allows for that. If someone else commits the crime, we can only assume the mother was choosing to carry to term. With that, the fetus/baby had potential.

I don’t agree with abortion at all. But, this is as best I can describe the current laws and reasoning.

Since we can claim a baby born on December 31 as a dependant for the whole year, I guess it kinda sorta maybe equals out.

You need to talk to a Tax expert. YOU CAN deduct your medical expenses… If you itemize. Baby does not need to be here to do that.

Extra food? Well, for some I suppose. Once I hit 4 months, looking 9 months with twins there wasn’t much room for food. But we don’t deduct for food anywhere. UNLESS you feed you and baby on a biz lunch!!! Save those rec’ts and EAT grand on the biz lunch! And you’re already housed. So although baby stretches you out. You don’t need additional housing. Though didn’t we all feel AS BIG as a house. Surely there is a deduction there somewhere. Some sort of “renters” credit?

It’s because under the law, the mother makes the choice of whether the baby is a person or not. (By the way, we should always refer to her as a pregnant mother.) The same mother could say her aborted baby was a collection of cells while her current baby is a person. It’s insane.

that would be no.

the practical reason for the death of the fetus being chargeable as a homicide is that it gives the government an additional opportunity to overcharge the defendant, a big advantage in plea negotiations.

Wow, These are all very good posts and i am not surprised at all with the knowledge you have being as faithful as you all are. It is true if mom gets arrested it is a joint deal and a shame for the child. In abortion it is not the crime that bothers me as much as the choice. If they legalize pot will you all get this stuff and smoke it? Our system is failing and this country is going to suffer greatly because of it’s sins of greed and murder. it is cold blooded murder to take a life for no reason just because it is in your way or not the right time, or you have no money. If there was not such a law people would get along the same as they did in the covered wagon days they all ate and shared and loved allot more then today. We are almost becoming foreign in our ways i am waiting for them to say you can only have 2 children because of the economy.We should all ask congress this question but as it is said it would open Pandora’s box for the worst for Christians, and infants,They would drop it to only one murder and not count the child yes money is the route of all evil!Most of your crimes are money oriented, sex crimes are money oriented, filth and extortion and this system allows this and wants to teach our children in schools all about sex etc. There are very good points made here now who can we see to help change these stupid laws? “They Frameth Mischief out of the laws and murder the innocent blood”

To me, it’s all about the Scott Peterson trial.

This case actually exposes a fundamental flaw in the pro-abort (il)logic. They claim they want to draw the line at the point of birth, but this case proved that that’s not true. They’ll say that the want to draw the line at birth in public, but in their minds, what really determines whether or not you’re a person is whether or not you’re wanted (This can also be seen in their “Every Child a Wanted Child” slogan).
