You still haven’t proven the left hates the Pope. I’m waiting
OK. You win. I just recalled that the Left must love him because they wrote a play about him. It’s called The Deputy.

The indispensable condition for our personal survival, spiritual or otherwise, is that we say NO to the prevailing values of the liberal order and that we KEEP saying NO.

Left hates the Pope because he is always Right! 👍

The Pope aims his Light and exposes what the Left hides!

The Light shines in darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1:5) 🙂

^This is quoted for awesome truth! 🙂

That statement is false. Liberals support a limited amount of government, not to serve it as a deity. The government is not the master, and this has nothing to do with the Pope
they support a limited govt.? who knew w/ all their policies involving govt. growth.

Sounds like asking why does “the Left” hate every American President from Harry S. Truman to Ronald Reagan( i do wish you wouldn’t talk the Left as though it were some kind of monolith)?

To the left, the worst sin in the world is not genocide, war, or environmental destruction.

To the left, the worst sin in the world is to disagree with a leftist.

Disagree with a leftist and the leftist explodes in a rage that makes one think they’re in danger of being sent to the hospital by the leftist.

So the left hates the Pope because he disagrees with them.
A leftist threatened to punch me in the face because I didn’t agree with so-called “same-sex marriage”. They are dictators.

Why the Pope and not the Dalai Lama?

Because the Pope is the Vicar of Christ. These are probably the same people that would concoct a plot to crucify Jesus in this day and age.

It really is that simple. Lucifer knows who’s in charge and doesn’t waste time with “spiritual leaders” that don’t affect his plans.

Can you give me one example of someone who is all the way to the left (as defined by current American politics) who reveres the papacy? Name one person who loves abortion and loves the Pope at the same time.
From personal experience. I have many “leftist” friends in my parish. They support Obama and the LCWA. They loudly take issue with many Church Doctrines (women priests, Papal infallibility, etc.).

They absolutely hated Cardinal Burke when he was our Archbishop.

Whenever someone made a nasty comment about Burke, I would quietly say,to say “I love Archbishop Burke.” One day,one of the most outspoken lefties in choir finally figured out what I was saying. With a shocked face, she made a sign of the cross over me like I was Count Dracula.

Another one used to keep bringing up articles against Burke in Bible study. No relevance at all to the point at hand.

When there is an issue, they can’t keep their mouths shut at inappropriate times about their views. I have to listen to the Pope is bashing the LCWA during choir. I have to listen to how righties are immoral because they don’t support Obamacare.

Our Social Justice Committee is more concerned about capital punishment than abortion.

It just gets old.

I don’t purport to read leftists’ minds, but a great deal has been written about the ultra-leftist regimes and their methodologies.

The hard left is necessarily totalitarian in its heart of hearts because it seeks to make people do things they would not otherwise do; things that are contrary to the urgings of natural human conscience and human nature.

It is in the nature of totalitarian regimes to demand absolute ideological adherence, because it must do so in order to gain and retain control over human beings.

The Catholic Church is a promulgator of a competing ideology they cannot readily control because it is large and unchanging.

The Pope is the head of the Catholic Church.

And that’s why the left hates the Pope.
Which is why the Communists persecuted the Church in the Soviet Union and the Eastern Block countries.

And China today.

I went to a wedding in a Catholic parish and afterward had to hear all the complaining from the liberals about how the priest told them they shouldn’t be chewing gum in church during the wedding. Why attack a priest for doing his job? And on another website forum, there are a bunch of liberal “Catholics” who constantly attack the Pope and other bishops.
