Why does the march for life never get coverage from the secular media?

200000 people walk the streets of DC in protest of abortion, a large percentage of this are the youth of this country, and this group of people could have huge impacts on the elections of the future.

But we hear nothing about it in the secular media (I think atleast I was on the march so I never saw a TV)

but why does the media not cover this, this seems like a huge even, something that would make many pro choice dems and GOP shake in the boots. I know it makes PP shake in their boots I heard that the march for life had some PP people nervous about the future of abortion in this country.

but again why does the media not cover this. I bet you could have a 10000 person tea party rally in DC and the secular media would give at-least 10 minuets in a day to it.

btw obama and company better realize soon that the people who marched on DC will be voting against him in November and could vote him out of office.

Both the West Coast March for Life and the National March for Life got coverage here in California. We saw great coverage from one of the San Francisco stations on the West Coast March - they correctly said the protest against the marchers was minimal, that the turnout was the largest ever, and showed people listening to speakers, holding signs so we could read them on TV, and people praying. It was very respectful coverage, and not at all shortened. They even had an short interview with one of the organizers who said the reason SF was chosen was because it is one of the major cities where there are more abortions than births.

I’m sure the media has been unbalanced in its coverage in the past, but I think we Catholics need to drop the knee-jerk reaction against the media before they have even started. Many stations and reporters are seeing the winds of change in popular opinion and starting to offer more balanced coverage and reporting.

If your local stations are NOT doing so, then you need to pick up pen and tell them so.

i’m glad they covered that well

but we are talking about the march in DC and the national media.

We got rid of Direct TV . . . never watched anything but the news and it was getting too expensive! So we watch news over local networks out of Sacramento over our antenna. We saw no coverage unless it was on when we were not watching or asleep.

Thanks for posting that video. I can only emphasize the ending statement that each year, the March for Life inevitably results in the mainstream media showing its blatant corruption and fraud.

Around here, there was a little coverage of last year’s March. This year, I saw NO coverage, though I don’t watch TV all the time so I can’t be sure.

It seems to me that if 3 million people marched rather than 300,000, the media would still willfully ignore the event.

To them, it has the same effect as a march by the flat earth society. In fact, the flat earth society would likely get more coverage.

I caught a bit of the National March on CNN, but like a lot of you, I watch very little TV except for during my morning row - and then I kinda skip around between the local networks affiliates, CNN and Fox. What I did hear was pretty balanced.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of other stuff in the news this week so pretty much nothing was done in depth.

And unfortunately, the Marches are becoming “old news” to much of the public - same thing year after year with no new “hook” to grab the public’s and media’s attention.

Hopefully, with so many young people entering the fight (which SHOULD be news), some fresh blood and fresh ideas might be generated to reinvigorate the debate.

The station my husband works for did a nice story on it; they also often cover the local Catholic high school students heading off to the March in D.C. I saw something on CNN, too, I believe.

The pro-abortion folks are, I feel, getting scared. More and more young people identify as pro-life, thank God.
