Why does the woman have to go to Confession?

According to Fr. Serpa’s reply, the wife, who had no knowledge of the vasectomy, must also go to confession. Does that mean she is culpable for that sin as well, even though she didn’t know about it?
Why is the couple not obligated to continue to practice NFP as if the vasectomy had not occurred even though the reversal is not required?

Good for you! I don’t know why I wrote that the woman had to go to Confession. I have removed that sentence and will notify the woman privately.

As for NFP, the “P” stands for planning. With a vasectomy there is nothing to plan! People after menopause don’t practice it either.
