Even Moses did not see God, so why do you think you should, you are the servant HE is the MasterAm I supposed to wait till I die to physically reach him? That’s awkward

Well, then God should not be surprised when a large amount of the population does not follow him or the christian faith.this same question was asked 2000 years back to jesus what is the proof that you are the son of god and jesus said in reply that this generation will receive no signs.one should stop seeking the supernatural being.pray that u may be filled with love so that you may experience him in everyone.you have to see him in your enemies oso, cause he came for sinners.dont pray that you may see him, instead pray that you may experience him.
God has not changed. None of this post is evidence that He has.Well, then God should not be surprised when a large amount of the population does not follow him or the christian faith.
Apparently he had no problems proving he was Jesus after the crucifixion and he showed them the nail holes in his hands and feet, not sure why he would ‘prove’ his being to those people, but not with this generation…I thought God NEVER changed?
Wait, why would anyone be terrified of God? If He is the loving Father figure we all profess to believe in who is Goodness it very self, the One who will wipe away every tear, for what reason would we have to be terrified of Him if we saw Him?Because he wants you to choose him because you love Justice, Goodness, and Beauty. Not because you are terrified when you see God or because you are trying to save your skin.
Being afraid of His judgment and justice is one thing and is reasonable, everyone should have a healthy dose of that to keep them from presumption. Some people are terrified of being condemned to Hell by God. They become believers out of a sense of fear of God’s justice rather than out of love God. They tend to believe that they are unalterably flawed and unforgivable.
I fight this due to abuse I suffered as a child. I am actively reframing my image of God that was taught to me of a God of vengeance. I do love God and I am firmly devoted to the Catholic Church and to growing in my faith. I do believe as a matter of faith rather than an avoidance of punishment, so I’ve come a long way.
Those who hold this fear suffer greatly. Pray that they will discover the God of mercy and love.
I apologize for not being clear enough. I am not talking about “fear of the Lord” which involves a real understanding of all that we risk when we sin. It is a necessary component to our defense against evil. It is not the benign fear one has of a good parent who we are afraid to disappoint or who we know has the power to punish us.Being afraid of His judgment and justice is one thing and is reasonable, everyone should have a healthy dose of that to keep them from presumption.
But, being terrified to simply see God is another concept altogether. One which I dont understand.

My 6th grade experience in school was horrifying. We had a nun who beat us, cursed us, accused us of sexual sins in vulgar terms and imposed long period of kneeling on the hard floor to try to save ourselves from our certain damnation. There were other issues, but that will give you an idea of what we endured. (IMPORTANT: This was a sick and evil woman. In no way is the Church to blame for her own individual actions.)
For years I had only very faint memories of this time, but they came roaring back several years ago along with severe panic attacks, flashbacks, and depression. Ultimately they caused such fear and self-loathing that I could no longer go into Church. I would have panic attacks and terrible bouts of uncontrollable sobbing. I was so fearful that I was too unclean to enter God’s house and that He could strike me down.
Mine is an extreme case, but I know terror. It was entering that classroom and later entering Church.
DISCLAIMER: I have mentioned my experience only to give the poster some indication of how a person could have such fear. I intend no disrespect for the dedicated religious sisters who serve the world with faith and selflessness.
God doesn’t change but the world does…Well, then God should not be surprised when a large amount of the population does not follow him or the christian faith.

You** have **a religion!Very well said. And very true.
You do not reach God simply because He appears to you. You are still free to reject the reality of God and dismiss it as a hallucination…To expect to reach God physically
Yes, and we will see him on the day of Judgment and in Heaven. We will see Him as the Second Person in His human body. So we will see God physically. What we will not see is the inner nature of God. Nor will we see the Holy Spirit or the Father as they are in themselves. But we will see them in Jesus. It will be a vision of knowledge, we wil know they are in Jesus, but it is Jesus we will see.Go to any Catholic Church during adoration or Mass. Any day of the week. There you will certainly meet God physically. He might not appear as you expect, but I assure you, He will appear physically.
People are terrified by God by some of the things they have read about him in the OT, being that he does not change, that says alot.Wait, why would anyone be terrified of God? If He is the loving Father figure we all profess to believe in who is Goodness it very self, the One who will wipe away every tear, for what reason would we have to be terrified of Him if we saw Him?
It is unreasonable to regard every statement in the OT as infallible. God is a loving Father who did not create Hell. Those who reject Him create their own prison with their lust for power and independence.People are terrified by God by some of the things they have read about him in the OT, being that he does not change, that says alot.
Also, because God has so much power is another reason why people are terrified of him, he has power to do anything he wants in this world, he created the world and all that is in it, he is the one who created Satan and the demons, he created their abode Hell.
Of course people are going to be terrified by a deity like this!! I think the overwhelming acts in the OT are enough to scare most people!
No response!mikekle
