Why doesn't the Catholic Church call Islam the error/heresy that it is?

See orielly’s trashing of the pope in his 23 Sep 2015 talking points and get back to us!🤷
And, many have criticized the Pope, we have that right. We have free will.

What we don’t have is the right to defy respect for the sanctity of life which some Catholics in high ranking positions have been called out for.

Sneaky suspicions that the Catholics who disrespect the sanctity of life are the ones that slam fox for some amazing reason when nothing has been said.

Napolitano 24 Sep 2015

The pope has seriously disappointed those who believe the Roman Catholic Church preserves and teaches the Truth. The Truth is Christ risen and unity with Him. It is not a debate about the minimum wage or air conditioning.

That’s not talking about Islam, read this thread, a specific allegation was made per Fox News when many Catholics have said the like.

This is so funny, are we now, in light of the smear on Fox,

To dredge up anything a writer or pundit at MSNBC, Huffington Post and so on have ever made about the Pope?

No, Fox was singled out.
Furthermore, there is no moral equivalency between abortion, the right to life and disagreeing with the Pope which seems to be our right to do if one brings in Biden, Pelosi and so on. It sounds like some of these Catholics have indeed, had some trouble about their acts.

Not so for O’Reilly, as if he’d be denied communion because he said he disagrees with the Pope on something,

This seems to be the most base accusations bordering on hate-mongering and character assasination.

We agree then, because the other outlets you name are just as bad as FOX…it’s just you seem to want give one a pass and not the other.

Many Americans, 51% are opposed to Syrian refugees entering the US, probably because of radical extremists, oh, I see, blame Fox News!
**Poll: Americans Inclined to Ban Syrian Refugees, But Not All Muslims **
A new survey has found that while a majority of Americans would ban Syrian refugees from the country, most disapprove of “banning people who are Muslim from entering the U.S.,” as Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has proposed.
The Quinnipiac University survey released Wednesday found 51 percent of people oppose allowing Syrian refugees to enter the U.S.; 43 percent support the policy. The Obama administration is planning to accept at least 10,000 Syrian refugees into the U.S. over the next year.

Bill Maher, hardly a Fox viewer:
MAHER: All I’m saying is that liberal principles like freedom of speech, freedom to practice any religion you want without fear of violence, freedom to leave a religion, equality for women, equality for minorities, including homosexuals – these are liberal principles that liberals applaud for but then when you say in the Muslim world this is what is lacking, then they get upset.

So, just throwing in Fox News in a statement unrelated to the thread not only lacks validity but I’d say it is a way of marginalizing others, quelling discussion and so on.

This is so funny, are we now, in light of the smear on Fox,
I’m just in time, This is tell a funny joke period? I heard the latest poll from CNN said more people believed in Santa Claus than in President Obama. 🙂

But that was a serious question in the OP that deserves a answer from the “left and right” of political thinking.

*This easy going and politically correct attitude of the Catholic Church with regards to Islam is one of the reasons we are in the current state we are now when it comes to Islam; where nobody can criticize it without serious repercusions, where any real dialogue and reform seems impossible and where the Islamists carry on with impunity.
*
When Islam considers Catholicism a false religion and neither radicals nor so called “moderates” compromize on their beliefs (they are all fine with sharia law, stonning for adultery, stonning of gays, death penalty for apostasy, etc) it is baffling how the west in general and the Catholic Church in particular so willingly bend over to appease them. These people do not care about your attempsts at solidarity and multiculturalism, they are very clear on their goals and beliefs and their values are not compatible with western or let alone Catholic values.

The lack of action to counteract this from the part of the Catholic Church is mindblowing and is one of the reasons why we are on the mess we are now; they are like a sheep willingly going to the slaugher.
This thread proves that, it really does per the first paragraph.

Plenty, at least some clerics though, have echoed the above.

And here is Bill Maher:
MAHER: All I’m saying is that liberal principles like freedom of speech, freedom to practice any religion you want without fear of violence, freedom to leave a religion, equality for women, equality for minorities, including homosexuals – these are liberal principles that liberals applaud for but then when you say in the Muslim world this is what is lacking, then they get upset.

I think the Church tries to be conciliatory but Pope Urban, Pope Benedict, essays I have read per Catholic Apologetics seem to be contrary.

The Church has for a very long time had those who disagreed with Vatican II;

There is room for disagreement in the Church.

Never ceases to amaze me. I say to the wife: ‘Wanna watch this forum light up like a Christmas Tree? Criticize Fox “news”’. 😃
First, I didn’t start the thread.
Second, I just thought it strange someone is so worked up on CHRISTMAS DAY, they start a thread like this. And since Fox is in the panic/sky is falling/ end of the world/ there are Muslim terrorists coming across the border leaving a trail of Hummus/ business, that maybe he overdosed on negative news.

I am Catholic, I do not agree with Islam any more than I agree with Buddhism, or Mormonism. The Church does not need to fan the flames. She is in the business of representing Christ on Earth. And that means showing respect, if not agreement, with other religions.

Yeah, your just cloaking yourself in glory today.

Keep on keeping on.

It has less to do with Fox News as it has to do with you being totally and completely dismissive of the OP and their questions. You want to talk about “showing respect”, you might want to turn that advice inward just a tad.

And no evidence of the statements your making. As I said… fail.

I find it strange on CHRISTMAS DAY that someone would post for the sole purpose of seeing the board “light up like Christmas tree”.

My post was in response to the OP, I just took the more direct route in getting to the heart of the matter. People just generally don’t like to see their sacred cows attacked.
Until the moderators attach a “Contempt for Sean Hannity or Bill O’Reilly” infraction, I think it’s fair to try to deflate the panic balloon that is Fox.
They are not the biggest offenders, but they are the loudest.

Back to the OP.

Since the Church has specific rules for heresy, it simply doesn’t apply.
What would YOU suggest the Church do?

Your “sacred cow” seems to be Islam.
And in regard to your previous message, where and how did Christ respect other religions?
