Hi. I know this sounds like a troll, but I assure you I am honestly curious.
The Vatican, particularly the Pope, has spoken out against materialism and the accumulation of wealth (to say nothing of Jesus).
Why don’t they give away most of their wealth? The Vatican is rich!
It is understandable to have some of the great artifacts displayed in cathedrals as part of a beautiful display. Then, it’s somewhat like a museum.
It is also understandable to keep large amounts of money for funding. The need for a stockpile is obvious.
But there’s so much of it that’s not being used … why is it not given away?
