I know hell exists, other then that don’t know what it’s like down there and pray God I never will. Those souls that are there must be in total anguish, first to be separated from God forever, the pains of hell is all to much to comprehend. Two things I always wondered about, 1. the final judgement when God separates the good from the evil and pronounces their fate, would the evil just hear His voice? 2. When the damned souls go to hell will the devil still be there with them or is he to be destroyed as we have learned God Bless:

He does. It’s called, Purgatory.
That’s called the Lake of Fire.
It is difficult for human beings to comprehend that there is no time in eternity.
Here’s the way I understand it.
First, God creates us in time.
Second, we choose whether to obey God and be saved. Or disobey God and be condemned.
Third, during our lives, we can choose to change our minds because of the existence of time.
Fourth, but, once we have passed into eternity, there is no more “time” to change our minds.
Fifth, we have, effectively, chosen our own destiny by the choices we made in our lives.

I read in a book about hell that even if people were released from hell, they would eventually go back to their old ways. So if they were put back on earth to see if they made the same mistakes, they would. Maybe it is that “dedication” that send one to hell, that and not repenting of course.

Maybe. But, why don’t God eventually destroy them, that is, make them no longer exist? That is my question.

I’ve thought that maybe it’s because they want to exist. That existence is the only good of God they will. God not violating their will, sustains them. Just a thought

The souls in Hell serve as lessons to us all.
Think about the lesson of Lazarus.

Purgatory isn’t hell…
Every soul there is Heaven-bound. There are some who mistakenly believe that purgatory means a “second chance”, but that isn’t correct, either. It’s more like Heaven’s mud room, where the sins on our souls that are NOT deadly, will be purged from us. (1 John 5:17; 1 Corinthians 3:1-15)

God is ruled by logic. He cannot step outside of the realm of logic that He created.
God created us as eternal beings, thus our souls live forever.
That’s really it.
Also, those who commit mortal sin knowingly go against God. They know what they’re doing and are in a sense predetermining their fate when they decide to commit mortal sin.
God would not destroy a soul He created to be eternal because
a.) It would go against logic
b.) He gave us free will to do as we wish, to love Him, or not love Him
c.) Justice demands that those who go against the Laws of God be punished, and since God is infinite, justice demands infinite punishment. And since pain cannot be infinite, the duration must therefore be infinite.
