Why don't Muslims become Christian?

At least it’s in Bukhari:

*Volume 9, Book 84, Number 57: *

Narrated 'Ikrima:
  • Some Zanadiqa (atheists) were brought to 'Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn 'Abbas who said, "If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah’s Apostle forbade it, saying, ‘Do not punish anybody with Allah’s punishment (fire).’ I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah’s Apostle, ‘Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.’"
What happened to “no compulsion in religion”?

Hi

Bukhari is neither Quran nor Sunnah. It was collected 150 years after the demise of Muhammad, so unless it has its origin in the Quran and not against Quran, it is not to be attended/practiced.

Thanks

Because God commands Christians not to transgress the limits of their religion, but yet they do.

The Qur’an is God’s final revelation to mankind. That’s a real good reason not to become a Christian–it would require disbelieving in scripture, disbelieving in a prophet, and worshiping a human being. It’s moving backwards.

Christians should become Muslims–that’s the natural progression.
It appears you are taking the position that whatever the Qur’an and authentic hadeeth says is true. What is your criteria for taking this position? Please be specific. What makes you sure the Qur’an is from God? What is the strength of that argument from the archeological, paleographic, scientific, and ethical basis?

When was the Qur’an collected and why did the Sahaba have variant Musaahif? By the way, most Biblical scholars (Christian and non-Christian) believe the new testament was written within 100 years of Jesus death and Resurrection. A significant minority think it was completed with 40 years. Even if you rely on the Qur’an alone, though, they are some significant scientific and historical errors to deal with; unless of course, your mind is made up despite the facts.

I don’t even understand your question. You can’t be asking me to scientifically prove to you that the Qur’an is from God?

The Qur’an was collected within two years after the death of Muhammad.

:rotfl: whatever… :rotfl:
Sister Amy…This response does not speak very highly of you. Please do not be childish. I opened this thead to try to understand what intellectual objection Muslims have to Christianity. Oh…I am still praying for you.

:rotfl: whatever… :rotfl:
Is your love of Allah real, or do you just follow all the motions simply out of fear? For instance, if a Muslim does not do the 5 obligatory prayers, isn’t he putting himself in danger of going to hell?

Hi

Quran was revealed on the heart of Muhammad by God Allah YHWH bit by bit in 23 years . As soon as it was revealed it was learnt by heart by Muhammad and his companions; so it existed all the time. Muhammad also as another safeguard dictated it to the scribes on things available. So all along it was available verbatum verbally and in writing.

Usman only standardised the written one.

Thanks

The quran was a collection of writing found on rock, leaves, stones, etc., that were scattered across the Arabian desert. It’s not the word of God.

I can, and I am. Christians are not called to blindly listen and obey. I am a Christian today (first by God’s Grace) by means of inquiry. I believe that the Bible is reliable because of the strength of the manuscript record. There is no such manuscript strength for the Qur’an, thanks to Uthmaan. Also, many of the events narrated in the Old and New Testaments have been supported by archeology. Paleography is able to place the NT, linguistically with 50 years of Jesus Resurrection. By the way, this is all 600+ years before Muhammad was born. You cannot expect your conviction to be taken seriously, if it is merely emotional.

Repeating the same thing over and over again does not make it true! WHAT PROOF DO YOU REALLY HAVE that God actually revealed the Quran to Muhammad and that Muhammad didn’t make it all up?

What proof do you have of that?

How can a true loving God command his followers to do these?

Qur’an:9:5 “Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

Qur’an:4:104 “And do not relent in pursuing the enemy.”

Eichenb2, your replies are excellent!👍 Muslims make lots of statements and report them as fact, but when the push comes to the shove, they can’t provide any proof for their assertions, and either they’ll come up with a tu quoque or divert the discussion elsewhere.

Exactly! That does not sound like the God who told us to love our enemies!
