Why don't other religions speak out about social issues?

Most fundamentally they don’t see man’s behavior as a means to salvation.In broad terms if we are saved by believing in Jesus works is of minor importance.Why concern oneself with life issues when they have so little to do with salvation.

Whoever believes such a thing obviously stopped reading their Bible right before they got to James 2!

My question is why can’t we go back to the old days? In the good old days of Jesus, there were very few homosexuals and the focus was on feeding everyone and helping because everyone was poor. Now that people have money enough to sit around in this post-industrial society, they can sit around and entertain sexual thoughts about the same sex which is absolutely repulsive.

I’m afraid that back in ‘the good old days of Jesus’ homosexual practices were not uncommon, and were, to a limited extent, a recognised part of the Greek culture which dominated the Roman Empire. (In the words of the inimitable Basil Fawlty, ‘Well, they practically invented it, didn’t they?’) Why do you think Paul was often forced to reprove members of the early churches in his letters?

It is also helpful to remember that one does not need to be (comparatively) wealthy, or even particularly well-nourished, in order to have homosexual thoughts or engage in homosexual practices. The relative ease of life in modern, prosperous, technologically-advanced societies simply makes it easier to indulge all such urges.

It’s because most Christians are ignorant and closed minded. All they can see is, it goes against the scriptures, guess what guys? The scriptures were written by men 2000 years ago, just like how the ill ad was written by homer. It is NOT to be take literal.

Most other religions like Wicca, paganism, Buddhism are all about finding yourself and whats best for you, Christans are closed minded and only follow what is told to them, that scares me, that’s how brainwashing starts…
