Why don't priests use incense?

Although I can empathize with those who would have a health concern over the use of incense, I believe it lends an increase in solemness, attention, and a greater intensity of worship.

Do those with an allergy to wheat gluten not receive the Eucharist? Do alcoholics refuse the Precious Blood? I believe in grace and the mercy that comes with cooperating with that grace. As often as incense is used I would think that most people would try to endure and hopefully offer whatever suffering they experience to Our Lord. A small thing to ask considering what Our Lord went through for us.

The answer is yes to both of your questions…

However I fully agree with you, the use of incense does add solemnity to the Mass and that’s something every Catholic could use.
