Why don't the popes remove wayward bishops?

These names have been hidden by the leadership of your church even though it has admitted wrong doing, or do they generally hand out millions of dollars to people who make false accusations?
I believe we have. Not all but some…
Only God and those guilty know all their sins.
Yep.
That is supposed to the job of your leaders.
Really? Where is that found in the Bible?
Matthew 7:1 "Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.
I know that I’m NOT infallible and am NOT foolish enough to believe that any man is.
But you certainly offer your interpretations as if you were. 🤷

If you are without sin, I suppose you can hurl that first stone, right?

Teflon93;2472325]Then perhaps you might want to consider that you’re mistaken.
I always do.
Do you deny that false accusations are made against the Catholic Church and her clergy?
No, I know that there been have false accusations.
Do you believe that she should reassign or remove from office a bishop on the basis of an accusation alone?
I believe that all accusations should be investigated, if someone is found guilty they should be removed and punished in accordince with the law, not just moved to another parish only for the same thing to happen.
Or do you believe those who accuse her to be infallible?
As I stated before, I don’t believe any man to be infallible.

We potentially disagree then only on the second point.

Who should investigate, then?

Per the OP, Tantum Ergo gave a good answer. Likewise the Orthodox don’t want a Pope who meddles with individual bishops–over the course of centuries, especially post-schism, Popes exercised more and more of their authority over individual bishops and diocese–the allowance of individual bishops and local synods to exercise more autonomy is keeping more with the practice of the early Church, which the Orthodox prefer.

As for the problem you speak of, it is nothing new. If you look at some of the letters of St. Basil the Great, he is surrounded by horrible bishops–as he says, the more heretical and man-pleasing you are, the more likely you will become a bishop in his day. He wrote to Pope St. Damasus I to do something about it, and the Pope basically ignored him–St. Basil then writes a private letter to a friend expressing his disappointment, not unlike the feelings expressed in the OP.

You make the assumption that the Orthodox bishops are all in agreement on everything, and that none in their ranks could be considered to be terrible leaderes by other Orthodox bishops.

Methinks you don’t know enough about the Orthodox.
Methinks you should not try to assume you know me or anything about me based on a single post to an Internet message board.

Why is this an issue? If the Pope is actually supposed to make sure there are good bishops, why should we care what the Orthodox think?

Throughout Church history, there have been good Bishops and poor Bishops, as is so today. Let’s remember to pray for them all.
We already pray for them in the Mass, perhaps it is that we should pray for them 70 times as much while they are being de-frocked and returned to the status of laity for further catechesis.

Peace,
