From an outsider, it makes a lot more sense, than every religious group claiming a total monopoly on religious truth and of worshiping the correct God.
Maybe you should check the inside, its warm and fuzzy when you worship the correct God.

You are saying that the Church teaches that we eat the “raw flesh”.

You will have to either admit that you lied or admit that you are mistaken.
I can’t believe I have to ask you this. Are you honestly suggesting that the Catholic Church teaches that Jesus’s flesh is somehow cooked?

Please tell me that you don’t believe that your eating Jesus’s cooked flesh. If it’s not cooked in some manner, what is it?

Get back to me when you figure this one out.

TarlsQtr;5040092:
How do you or even the Church know it’s his heart every time?

You can’t test these things you know, that whole, the accidents of the bread and wine remain, yet the bread and wine are wholly changed, yada yada.
Your understanding is a new heresy that not even Martin Luther could comprehend:

Who, but the devil, has granted such license of wresting the words of the holy Scripture? Who ever read in the Scriptures, that my body is the same as the sign of my body? or, that is is the same as it signifies? What language in the world ever spoke so? It is only then the devil, that imposes upon us by these fanatical men. Not one of the Fathers of the Church, though so numerous, ever spoke as the Sacramentarians: not one of them ever said, It is only bread and wine; or, the body and blood of Christ is not there present.

Surely, it is not credible, nor possible, since they often speak, and repeat their sentiments, that they should never (if they thought so) not so much as once, say, or let slip these words: It is bread only; or the body of Christ is not there, especially it being of great importance, that men should not be deceived. Certainly, in so many Fathers, and in so many writings, the negative might at least be found in one of them, had they thought the body and blood of Christ were not really present: but they are all of them unanimous.”

You have said that we eat raw flesh. I called you on it.

You have lied. If you still insist that you are not lying, then point to the exact paragraph in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (it’s available on line) that says we eat raw flesh.

Your posts are becoming more ridiculous. Are you a teenager?

Hmmm, so if it’s not raw flesh, then it must be cooked. ** This is your belief, you tell me, in what state is Christ’s flesh. Educate me.** 😃

As far, as your little jab about my age, I kid you not, coming to the defence of another poster, whose post wasn’t under attack, but he was. I actually wrote this…seriously, like 2 minutes before your little teenaged jab.
This is one of the weakest debating techniques, trying to undermine another posters credibility, by suggesting that their thoughts and writings, are that of an immature youth.
It’s been tried on me before, and true to form, having ignored the comment, the poster left shortly after, as he or she, had nothing else to say of any importance.
It generally is a sign that you are in over your head and you no longer possess an ability to defend that what you are supposed to be defending.
Like the guy who pointed out that I had incorrectly used the word " Their" instead of using They’re".
I’m beginning to see that this a standard tactic around here. Attack the poster, not the post
See my last sentence! Typical, I was right! LOL…:rotfl:

In what state is Christ’s flesh when you consume it? If not raw, then in what state?
It is your belief, apparently, that the Catholics eat raw flesh. I’m not sure why you believe that, since you claim to believe nothing.

At any rate, it’s your belief and you’re asking me to prove you wrong. It doesn’t work that way.

Go the CCC and find the paragraph that says Catholic believe that they eat raw flesh.

You made the claim, and you say you’re not lying. So prove your point.

You do sound like a teenager, and your posts are becoming more ridiculous. Perhaps you’re not used to being up so late. 😉

Seriously, you are posting nonsense. Grow up and debate honestly.

Actually, it’s your belief. Iv’e asked you to prove it. The CCC is available on line, and it’s searchable.

At the risk of offending people, I’ll be honest.

I hate the fact that the Church refuses to excommunicate pro-abortion politicians, and actually allows them to take communion. This totally negates any pro-life teaching the Church has, since it clearly sends the message that violations of Church doctrine is tolerated. Just imagine if a government enacted laws, and then refused to enforce those laws.

I don’t like the fact that Catholics claim to have the one true Church, but mostly refuse to evangelise people.

That’s all I can think of.

You’ve misrepresented what I said, my comment about being bored was what I didn’t like about Mass, not why I left.

The biggest reason, was when I found the courage to rationally think about what I had to believe to remain a Catholic.

That a Priest, has the power, to summon the Holy Spirit, to turn an ordinary piece of bread, into the very real presence, the literal flesh, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ.

**I would have to believe that a hunk of bread, is turned into the flesh of the son, of the creator of the universe! ** 😊

Uhmmmmmm…Nope, that’s not something I could or can believe, unless I suspended all reason, rationality or simply lied to myself.
I know I’m late in posting this and perhaps someone has already showed this to this poster but I’ll put it up nonetheless:

trosch.org/inx/lanciano.html

Anyone who doesn’t believe in the real presence should probably read this link too. God bless.

Hardly, with all the knowledge in libraries and the Internet it is highly unlikely your observation holds any weight. Your statements makes it easier for people like you to comprehend why someone would leave the church. Calling us all intellectually inept, having too much intellect, or being unable to comprehend is just a tactic. A very lame one.
I quite agree with Transqtr.

In my experience, some of the most vocal critics of the Catholic Church do NOT accurately state what she actually believes or teaches.

Whether it’s through ignorance or some baser motive, I don’t know.

But most of them simply don’t know whereof they speak.

6 insults, unrelated to my question, that is not very nice. 😦

If Christ’s flesh is not raw, in what state is it when ingested by the faithful?

TarlsQtr;5040092:
Now your splitting hairs. Do you think that I am not aware of the Orthodox Church and how it is Union with what Catholics insist was instituted by Christ, Apostolic Succession.

.

How do you know?

I’m utterly fascinated, if you don’t eat Jesus’s muscle, what then do you eat? Just his skin and never his muscle?

Do you eat his heart? I think you eat his heart and the last time I checked, the heart is a muscle.
How do you or even the Church know it’s his heart every time?

You can’t test these things you know, that whole, the accidents of the bread and wine remain, yet the bread and wine are wholly changed, yada yada.

Yes R.C’s believe they eat his flesh and drink his blood literally. In fact all Christians believe the bread to be his body and the wine to be his blood in some some way or other.

You are talking about something you don’t understand and are therefore resorting to mockery to cover up your lack of understanding.

But I and others understand and won’t hold your mockery against you.

What part of his body it is is irrelevant. He gave his all at Calvery and we recieve him that way.

What part of his body it is is irrelevant.
Surely, in the 2000 year history of the RCC, at least one theologian has pondered this question?

Anyone know?

Also, if not raw flesh, in what state is his flesh when it is consumed?

If there is no answer that’s fine, but this simple question is being avoided.

I will for now avoid the simple question. I know all the reasons why ( well most of them anyway ) so many people hate or reject what they believe is the RCC. Here is one reason why I love the RCC, and will stay, after coming back to it from years of wondering and wandering.
All christians have the Trinity.
Other than the RCC, and some orthodox faiths, do protestants, evangelicals, etc have a Father( God) a Big brother ( Jesus ) a Mother ( mary ), Many brothers and sisters ( the saints, recognized and otherwise ) and a infinite legion of soldiers(angels), all waiting to aid them, only should they ask.
Non-Christians don’t have the trinity, or the extended family.
Atheists( assuming there are any real ones around ) don’t even have God.
Of course only Catholic and Orthodox faiths have the eucharist. ( Not the raw flesh, but the body and blood nonetheless )

And still you haven’t been able to prove that Catholics believe that they eat raw flesh.

Once again a vocal critic of the Catholic Church can’t accurately state what it is about the Church they don’t like.

When you can state a Church doctrine accurately, respond. Until then, take your nonsense elsehwere.

You have claimed that you know the Church teaches that we eat raw flesh. So certainly you have studied this.

If this is true, it will be found in the CCC. Again, please point to the exact paragraph that says we are cannibals that believe we are eating raw flesh.

You are avoiding the question. Why not answer that simple question.

I hope the rest of the forum will join me and not respond to any of your posts until you provide the proof for your first claim - that Catholics believe they eat raw flesh.

I am seeing lots of people who dont like the church or converted out of it, so my question is why dont you like the church? Or what teaching dont you like ; that you “feel” there is no basis for?
I left because me experience of Divinity does not match with the Divinity taught and proclaimed by Christianity.
