no matter what I do or how much I pray I keep sinning year after year and continuously going to confession why keep going knowing I will be back a week later surely heaven and hell becomes a lottery if I die after confession I’m saved but before confession I’m lost so just a gamble on which day I die also have to walk as if my life depends on it its like a wound that never heals and getting punished for bleeding on the floor

I kind of feel the same way about life.

But one thing to keep in mind is that if you die before confession, you can still go to heaven if you have contrition right before you die/was planning to go to confession (like an actual plan to go next Sunday or something, apparently)

It is true, we all sin. Probably daily. But I highly doubt you mortally sin daily or weekly. Remember it is only MORTAL sin which keeps you from heaven, all else is forgiven in Mass or by making imperfect contrition. God isn’t trying to “catch you” in a mortal sin and then call you to judgement (earthly death). He wants you to live a full and productive life, loving him and your fellow neighbors.

Even if you do something which others consider a mortal sin, we are all judged on our own independently from one another. What might be a mortal sin for me, might not be one for you, depending of the amount of consent and knowledge.

That’s called ‘concupiscence’; that is, the human condition that we all suffer from: we’re all sinners.

No… that only holds up to scrutiny if you’re committing mortal sins weekly.

Moreover, the sacrament of reconciliation requires not only sorrow for sin, but also the resolve to not sin again. Are you saying that it’s just mechanical – that is, that we really don’t intend not to sin, but just go every week anyway? That would mean that we’re really not entering into the sacrament properly.

On the other hand, maybe you’re saying that we really try not to sin, but it happens anyway. That’s ok – in fact, that’s why the sacrament is there: so that we have recourse to God’s grace when we try but fall to sin.
so just a gamble on which day I die also have to walk as if my life depends on it its like a wound that never heals and getting punished for bleeding on the floor
Very poetic and angsty.

However, it’s not the correct analogy. It would be more like “a self-inflicted wound, and a doctor that keeps patching me up, but I keep hurting myself. If I truly don’t wish the doctor to help, then the doctor can’t heal me; but, if I cooperate with him, then he’ll keep working with me to ultimately heal me of my disorder.”

When you go to confession, are you telling Jesus anything that he does not know about you already? Of course not. When we confess our sins we open ourselves to the graces that will help cure the defect in our character that causes us to sin. It is not necessarily going to be a quick process. We (and by we I mean I) go to confession and confess the same sins over and over. The very fact that I am aware of these faults is progress and that is what we are called to do, make progress. Every time you go to confession, Jesus opens up the treasury of grace and floods your soul with it. These graces will help you resist the irresistible at least for one more second than you resisted last time. Confession is not an adversarial procedure such as you might find in a courtroom. Rather it is a chance for us to talk to Jesus and have Jesus give us the help we need. So, what I have decided for my life is that true, I fall the same way all of the time but I will continue to confess my failing to the Lord and I will not surrender to pride for if I stop going because I have to keep confessing the same sins over and over again, pride is the only thing that can stop me. If I stop going, I will not only continue my bad behavior but might slip deeper into the muck and mire. Keep going to confession, keep confessing the same sins, you will eventually win the battle!

I suspect God will take into account your habits and disposition. If you’re penitent, taking frequent confession, truly contrite, and die before making it to your next one, I’d like to think He won’t leave you out in the cold. An act of perfect contrition is sufficient, remember, so long as you intend to go to confession when able. Best to speak to a spiritual counselor or priest about this, though.

But I wouldn’t give into despair by giving up.

That sounds very difficult. Have u considered u might be struggling with scrupolosity or that u might be committing sin of presumption?

Has your Confessor given u any advice on how to avoid this sin? If he has…do your best to follow it…and keep going to Confession. Eventually i have faith u will overcome it.
Dont give up.❤️
