life in the real world. 😉
.
Are you saying that the Catholic and logical hashing of this topic is far fetched and not part of the “real world”?
The Church and Her teachings on this matter are as about as real world as you can get. As is spreading the Gospel. Yes my friend, even on the internet.

Seeker,

The only way to know what a “no answer” means is to ask them what it means or wait for further posting to evaluate the content of their posting…if they have moved on then we should not see them posting on CAF anymore…

If no one is going to change their mind…then…why preach…why tell people to repent

Why say…repent=change your mind for the kingdom of God is at hand…

Why listen to Paul when he says “do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind”…are you asking me to believe that people are conformed to the world and have no ability to change their minds?

This is a bunch of people sitting around preaching about how right they are and how wrong everyone else is-just like every other internet forum. We’ve all come to our own conclusions based on our own life experience and it’s a pretty safe bet that some anonymous person on the internet isn’t going to cause anyone to make a huge change in their thinking.

In my own experience, what does cause people to rethink their position is not someone preaching at them on the internet, but someone in their lives showing them an example of a different life.

I spent my day yesterday at Church, with friends who have stood by my side for the last six years in good times and bad-and then visiting my Mom-who has loved me unconditionally before and after she knew I was gay. These people all showed me with their lives that there was something better than the life I was living-and when I was ready to take the first steps toward that life they have been there to walk them with me.

As I enter Holy Week, I took a long hard look at my involvement in these types of discussions, and I’ve come to the conclusion that it isn’t the best thing for my walk with Christ. It’s a huge temptation for pride. not to mention that it’s a time suck. Sure, it’s fun to post something on the internet and announce how “right” I am and read other people’s writing and feel superior-but it’s SINFUL. I’ve confessed it where it matters, and I’m doing so here. If I have caused offense with anything I’ve written here-I ask forgiveness. I am going to work hard to resist the temptation to read these threads and get sucked in again.

I hope everyone has a meaningful Holy Week and a blessed Easter.

I don’t understand Catholics who adopt for their Catechism the publications of the American Psychiatric Association. Do they not know that psychologists are among the most atheist infiltrated professions?
Dude ---- red pills exit the Matrix, not enter it. Jus’ sayin’. . .

Does not mean that we should avoid proclaiming the truth.

Have a blessed Holy Week and Easter to you too. God Bless!

English is not my first language, so I’m sorry for any misspellings.

Gay are getting killed everyday, they are the most hated group on earth at this age,

Don’t tell me that gays choose to be gays because this is STUPID! I know that most Catholics don’t think that but the evangelicals do! I can’t imagine that guy in the middle East in Iran woke up one day and thought “I wanna people to hate me, I wanna suffer, I wanna be killed, hmmm oh I found it, I can turn gay!!!”

Also, some people say that gay sex is wrong, what about the fact that sisters and brothers were having sex together (sons and daughters of Adam and Eve) and that was OKAY!!

Saying that same sex marriage is WRONG!! Why? Why two men or women in love can’t be together, I have gay friends and two of them are couples, the love that I see in them is stronger and greater than the love my parents have. They love each other and stand beside each other and yet they can’t get married, While Britney Spears got married for about 70 days and that was okay, that was marriage. When gay men are couple for more than 30 years and yet, that is not marriage.

Sorry guys if I sound angry, but I DO NOT see one reason to treat LGBT people the way they’ve been treated, and yet, God created them and now he is punishing them? WHY?
Well, obviously if God created people with a propensity…or…a great proclivity toward same gender attraction…then He will have great patience and care for them.

In the English language there is an expression…“God’s own drunk”…God cares for weak people in special ways. Would I go to a parade where alchoholics are marching and shouting: “We’re here, we’re drunk…get used to it!!!”…???..No

Ps…some of your opening “facts” are pretty far off. Authentic Christianity might be THE MOST hated group.

Seeker,

This is Catholic Answer Forum where people come to ask questions and get answers, it should not surprise you that Catholic points of view are expressed.

Actually if you get no answer it means people are just sick of it and have moved on to life in the real world. 😉

It’s not like anyone’s mind is going to be changed here anyway.
Those with hardened hearts most likely will not change their mind. However, there are true seekers and lurkers who come here to learn.

This is historical fact, the atheists living in the comunist regime were locking up the homosexuals in mental institutions, based on the scientific testimony given by pshychologists…That was only 30 years ago…

Ion,

Does this mean that the communist regimes do not accept the DSM either?

By principles? O no, they can turn 180 degrees using the opinion of other scientists.

My opinion is that the church is right, if they feel they can’t do it otherwise then they should cut it of completely. Give up, is not for them, anyway they do not make children. I mean if really necessary, realy cut it off…

Nobody is born gay. My opinion is that the cause is the lack of education. Parents do not have to much time to discuss with the kids; then the kids turn on tv and what they see is sex for pleasure. Not explicit pornography, but the ideea, the motivation and so on. Then the desire comes, then probably curiosity, sharing ideeas with friends and they got it all wrong. Maybe you can get some things only once in your childhood? Hard to believe it, if you really want to change it. But abstinence should be possible, eventually with help. If the first motivation is pleasure, its impossible to get rid of it. I suppose a christian doesn’t have pleasure as the first motivation. This is my personal opinion, i do not have any kind of such experience, and never have disccused the subject with a gay.

The method of the communist regime was effective; no homosexuals; i was roaming the woods surrounding the city, and all the neighbouhoods alone or with friends, with no worries.
I never heard of anything wrong to happen, and the town was large about 300.000

My belief is that psychology still has much to learn about this subject and the jury is still out. However, my personal experience is that sexual attraction is not a choice. In my early adolescent years I found myself strongly sexually attracted to females and not to males. It was not a choice I made. The “little guy downstairs” made the choice for me. Now I ask myself , why it should be any different for a gay person. Why would a gay person choose his/her same sex attraction knowing full well it would mean a lifetime of abuse and ridicule? So in response to the original post, if science does eventually discover a “gay gene predisposition”, I would also wonder why God allowed it to exist.

Petras,

Your beliefs based on empiricism do not equate to what is known by study of larger populations. Your belief that Psychology has much to learn has been hampered by the take over of the American Psychiatric Association by Homosexuals that want to silence anyone that disagrees with “Born That Way” belief.

The Calfiornia Bill, SB-1172 will be argued in April and when it is defeated, NARTH will be vindicated and you will find that other than the so called mainstream groups will be providing information on this issue…for this I suggest you look at this thread…

**The Reformation for Secular Homosexual thinking **

The Reformation was marked by stating that the Church has abandoned the gospel and was apostate…it was for this reason that Calvin, Luther, etc separated from the authority of the Church.
In reverse, the Secular world has been garnered by the LGBT in the likes of the American Psychiatric Association, and all societies supporting their agenda.
We do not have to recognize any authority or writings of these named societies. As is the nature of thought the Reformation has begun…
Don’t plan to get any information that teaches you anything but the party line from the American Psychiatric Association and those that adopt their views…look elsewhere.👍

Why would God allow to exist predispositions to cancer, to diabetes, to overeating, to self-aggrandizement?

Why does God allow flawed biology, and concupiscence?

Our nature is fallen. The rest comes from there.

God created the Universe and humans with imperfection as God is perfect…why did He create us with imperfection…? Perhaps to seek something greater than ourselves.

Cancer? No one has a handle on all that there is to know about Cancer as yet.

Diabetes? There are two types. Juvenille onset and Adult Onset. Juvenille Onset has many causes. Adult onset is associated with alcohol, obesity, and other things including Scorpion bites. We are fragile.

Overeating? This is a problem in our head and related to our cultural environment that we have the ability to do something about. Who controls your hand to mouth action? God or you?

Self-aggrandizement? This is you and nobody else but you…God asks you to dismiss this notion and for that I refer you to…my first statement…

God created the Universe and humans with imperfection as God is perfect…why did He create us with imperfection…? Perhaps to seek something greater than ourselves.

Being a skeptic, I understand the politics and barely hidden agendas of groups like the APA. I agree with you that my limited personal experience may not be the norm so I ask you and other readers to recall their adolescent years… did you make a conscious choice to be sexually attracted to a member of the opposite sex or did it just happen?

Petras,

The answer to that question has no validity unless it is asked across the Nation and the World and then put in context. I recall kissing a girl in reading circle, I recall Judie Bloomer, I recall Stella, I recall Maureen, I recall Jonell…what I recall has nothing to do with something that means anything that can be useful for anyone but me…what my consicious decisions were are relevant to me and yours are relevant to you…this is empiricism and does not make for the foundation of applied information useful to anyone else…

My experience is not the world experience, I can supplement my experience with what is known about the world and see how my experience conforms or does not conform to the world experience and I can adjust my thinking based on that as can you…
