Why God does not destroy the Devil?

I would like to be explained how come GOD, if “all powerful” does not destroy the Devil? There is no reason why God would want to keep the devil around. It is the king of all evil, and is not switching back over to the good side obviously. All it does is produce evil. WHY not destroy it?
