Hey
So I was on this MEAN forum and an hour of arguing mindlessly got me tired. However while arguing for the issue that Christianity is evil. That god needs our attention and that we just need to believe in order to get into heaven, as opposed to actions (Karma). As I was replying, this idea sort of came into my mind, and I kinda liked it. There haven’t been any arguments against it since:)

Here is what I wrote:

Christianity doesn’t say faith alone will send us to heaven. Our actions play a big part. We are to do our works with- love, joy patience, gentleness, kindness, self control, goodness, peace, faithfulness. With these “fruits” or blessings of the holy Spirit, we are to deal with others. It makes the world a better place.
THIS is why god needs us to trust in the holy Spirit ( so that we may get the blessings.) I’m not saying atheists don’t have these traits, but I stand witness to say it is hard without faithfulness (belief that god will guide your heart even when you get discouraged by humanity) and joy ( joy knowing someone up there is smiling when we do good). That is why the saints gave their lives to serving others. They had all nine fruits. Maybe that’s why it is called a sin-because it must be thought that without faithfulness and joy how can you have the other fruits of the spirit? If you don’t have them how can you make the world a better place? Sadly, such Christians are rare to non existent nowadays.
Also I don’t believe in hell for non believers. It all boils down to works as I wrote above.

What do you think. I felt good after saying this. I’m writing to the pope!

These are also the things that will put us in the disposition to accept God’s love and truth. When we get into the right state of mind, it gets our anxieties and other negative thought trains out of the way so that God can work on us directly without our minds trying to keep Him out like guards at the door. The peace of Jesus does not require worldly comfort; it gets us through times of worldly comfort and trials both.

To me, I think of my True Self (my "substance’), not as I look in the mirror (the “accidents”) but that within me that I can only know through my heart. The code of love that the Lord wrote on our hearts. And Jesus came to help us remove the bushel baskets from around them so our lights could shine.

That “True Self” smiles all by itself. I can feel that I’ve done right, and it only really works best if I don’t receive any worldly reward for it. It is a “knowing” that’s deeper than a “feel good” because it doesn’t always feel good but it seems right somehow.

So yes someone is up there smiling, but someone is also in my heart, smiling from the inside out!

🙂

When you say you need to believe or God wants us to believe, could you expand on what is it that God wants us to believe? To just say God wants us to believe is a bit ambiguous. He wants us to believe what?

I meant believe in the trinity and hence believing that it can make wonders in your life. Hence you gain more courage in your mission to do good

In your original post you stated: ‘we just need to believe in order to get into heaven’ Please excuse me for maybe not fully understanding you, but will using your definition of believe, as stated above, get you to heaven? I’m reminded of

James 2:19 (NASB)

You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.

I’m just curious about what ‘believing’ entails for getting into heaven if even demons believe…
