Luke 10:1
The Lord Jesus appointed seventy-two other disciples whom he sent ahead of him in **pairs **to every twon and place he intended to vist."
Why Jesus did not ask each one of them go to different town - this way it would spread His Teaching faster?

There must be a good reason to have the disciples going in pairs. Going in pair is to help each other grow spiritually. When one is in doubt or doing something wrong, the other will advice him. When one is misguided by the wicked Satan and does not see it, the other might help him see the problem.

Is there any other reasons?

Thanks!

I think that when one does such work in pairs, or better as a part of a team, it is more obvious that the results should be credited to the Spirit and not to one individual. Thus it reduces the temptation to Spiritual Pride.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons should have a precise answer to this one. Unless they just do it for protection…😃

also one would encourage the other in times of weary
Legion of Mary works required home visitations to be like this – prevent any bad rumour.

Tak

Another thing is that Jesus asked them to stay at the house who welcomes them. If only one disciple had gone alone and stayed over a house, there could be a lot of temptation.

tptram, I am also a member of Legion of Mary too. 🙂
