Why hasn't Sanjaya been booted off of American Idol yet?

I was so disappointed with last nights show results.
Sanjaya is HORRIBLE, and in my honest opinion…he needs to go!!!
 
He’ll go soon enough. And in the end, it will be Melinda and LaKisha, as it should be.

What struck me the other night was how terrible Diana Ross sounded. Really, it pointed up the dangers of performing on live TV. What if the judges had critiqued her? A little pitchy? Oh, my goodness. I would crawl in a hole and die if I performed like that on the biggest show on TV.

That must be it, because he sure can’t sing. It’s torture watching him, even if he is cute.
 
I’ve pretty much stopped watching the guys, they are all pretty crummy this year - relatively speaking. The women and just blowing them out of the water this year. It’s going to be very good when it gets to the end!!!

But Sanjaya has got to go. 😛

Yep, it is painful to watch Sanjaya, I thought for sure when he shared his Hula dancing skills that he would be voted off, because so many were making fun of him. His hair though gets a thumbs up from me, 👍 much better. It filled out his face a bit.
 
Actually, I think the fact that Sanjaya was in the bottom three at this stage is a good sign. A few years ago, the VFTW champion Scott Savol had a long run despite butchering every song he touched. That Sanjaya is already near the bottom even with VFTW’s support suggests to me that the site’s appeal may be wearing off, finally.

I think there effect was pretty minimal last year, too. They had to move their support from Kevin Covais to Kelley Pickler after the former was voted off early in the game, and I think Kelley went as long as she did because A) she had a fan base of her own and B) she was actually pretty good in her best moments. Unfortunately, her best moments just weren’t frequent enough back then.

I am thinking that it is that he didn’t forget the words to the song that he was singing.

No matter how bad he was, at least he knew the words.
 
Personally, I think forgetting the words would have been an act of mercy, if it had meant less of him singing. 🙂
 
Someone already mentioned this, but it really is because of the Vote for the Worst website. Their website says that Howard Stern mentioned them on his radio show, so tons of his listeners were also going to vote for Sanjaya, too. The point of the Vote for the Worst website is to throw off the vote and put the least deserving person through to the next round.
 
I don’t really like any of em. At least Sanjaya is funny.I hope he stays a few more weeks. I would really like to see him do a Frank Sinatra song.😃
 
He keeps the comedy aspect of the show going. Simon gets to make fun of him every week as long as he is on the show. The other judges are starting to have some fun with him as well. I bet Simon is regretting putting him through to the top 24 now though. He should have been cut along with his sister.
 
I think he is a pretty good singer. He is at least as good as any of the other guys or better.
Some of the girls are better.
I think he is cute and sweet and sings well just doesn’t perform real well, he is very young. 🙂
 
I saw a short piece this morning, and it sounds like Sanjaya has propelled himself back up in the standings after last night’s performance. I missed it because we switched to “The Unit.”

I think Sanjaya has such appeal that he should be picked up for a teen flick/TV series. What a great smile he has! Maybe someone will redo the TV series “Maya,” which originally starred Sajid Kahn.

Judges say it was his best performance. I saw it and its true he was better…
I think the girls are better and one of my favs is Jordin,

I also think it was HIS best performance, but in my opinion, it was still horrible. I absoloutley love Melinda & LaKisha…and on the boys side, I love Blake’s voice. He kinda sounds like Rod Stewart (at least to me 😛 ) I don’t like the rapping thing he does or the robotic moves though.
 
He’s going to be out of his league very soon - he will not be able to compete against the major girls in this year’s show - Melinda and Lakisha are just amazing.

On a side note - the little girl who was so star-struck was SOOOO cute!!! I’m so glad they gave her some camera time and let her meet the contestants like that. That was really sweet.

I looked much like that back in the day when I was waiting to meet Leif Garrett and get his autograph!!! :eek: I think that was in like 1977?? UGH!!
