I know you know I used to be LDS. I feel a huge calling to minister to my lost brothers.

I would not want to face Christ at the end and explain why I did not try. I wrote a poem once that explains this better…

In the twinkling of an eye, in a brilliant burst of light
Christ came just like he said he would- a thief in the night
But there I stood prepared to meet my maker face to face
I’d been good and I just knew I was going to the heavenly place

So, there I stood and waited my turn, totally unnerved
I felt sorry for some, that’s true, but the rest would get what they deserved
I practiced how I’d introduce myself unto the Lord
I thought I’d say, “Lord I’ve been good, should I just climb aboard?”

When in the middle of my plans, a voice took me by surprise
There stood a man I knew from work, hurt shown in both his eyes
He said to me, “Hey, I know you, how could I forget?
There was something about you that I sensed from the first day that we met”

“You seemed to have a little spark, I didn’t know till now
That it was God inside your heart, I should’ve known somehow
But I didn’t know God, never have, I didn’t understand
I needed someone who knew the Lord to offer me their hand”

“How I hungered for the truth, I didn’t know where to go
All you had to do for me was tell me what you know
But I lived my life, you lived yours, I waited, you postponed
Now Christ is here to judge the world and I face him all alone”

"You had every chance to help, I guess you didn’t care
After all you had the truth; why did you have to share?
But you don’t have to explain to me, I was barely just a friend
But when it’s your turn to talk to Christ……

What will you say to him?

God Bless You, Texan Knight…Faith without Compromise is the only way to be a true witness to the world…and to the Mormon people…

Thank you Texan Knight.
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Keep up the work, brother!
“Then he saith to his disciples, The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers are few”(Matt 9:37 DRA)

The forum is becoming a “pick on Mormonism” forum. There have been too many posts about this recently. I do not think it is right to spend this much time criticizing another religion.

We are called to fight the good fight against heresy.

I do not criticize. It is not my intent to criticize. I am here to shout the truth and expose heresy.

Let us return from that Table like lions breathing out fire, terrifying to the devil!

He that sees another in error and endeavors not to correct it, testifies himself to be in error.
Pope Leo I

Maybe take a little break from it though?

Certainly, the current political landscape in the U.S. has helped fuel interest in this topic and this group.

That said, let’s give our friend TexanKnight appropriate leeway. His personal testament is certainly relevant and we ought to lend our support as fellow Catholics.

No, I’m not going to support it. I feel it has gone too far and it has made other people’s religion, one that they may have grown up with and known all their life, a punching bag.

You are certainly entitled, but in fairness, there is little that can be considered offensive here.

I have also seen several other threads in this Forum on Mormonism that were exemplarily charitable, and included very intelligent and thoughtful posts from practicing Mormons. Many acknowledged these posts in a very Christian manner, and we Catholics likely learned a lot from these shared perspectives. It is these very exchanges that foster and promote better understanding and tolerance. Hopefully we do not discourage that exchange in this or any other Catholic forum.

As for those who take such as an opportunity to criticize the beliefs of others, Mormons in particular in this case, the shame is theirs. That said, I can easily point you to unrelated threads where Catholicism is simply pushed down a poster’s throat in very direct, callous fashion when addressing other questions posed via sincere OPs. Should we also endeavor to restrict this activity, as well?

Like I said, Jesus was very clear. Our leaders have been very clear.

But, if spreading the truth this way offends you, I suggest not reading the threads or choosing a different board

Perhaps you could lay off a bit. Chill out and read a good novel.

They will see the truth in their own time Let God do the work in their lives.

I think there is also a big difference between letting people see the good of your religion by your actions and deeds versus your preaching.
I have trouble with that, too. I love my Catholic faith and want to share it with everyone. I believe it’s the Truth.
But, if I endlessly preach, people get tired of hearing it and just get frustrated with me. Remember what St. Paul said, if we don’t have love, we become like a clanging cymbal, even if we have the tongues of angels (To paraphrase). I’m not saying you are like that. I’m just saying that maybe people need to SEE the good we do rather than just hear our words constantly. I don’t know about you, but I would not be convinced to convert to a religion if I just kept being told how wrong I was and how right someone else was. It might be the truth, but there are better ways to show it.
God Bless.

So, Neither Catholic or Mormon want me here. Guess one should not stay where one is unwelcome. Thank you

I want you here, TK.
Seconded, strongly.

However, I would politely suggest that you’d do well to maybe step away for a few days. Seems like you’re gripping the wheel a little too hard these days. Happens to the best of us.
