Because I love the bride of Christ Jesus and because Jesus is really present always. I am not an orphan with a God who is far away. I am a Child of the God who lives in our tabernacles.

  1. I am Catholic by birth and through the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. I am therefore a “cultural” Catholic.
  2. I am Catholic because somehow I survived my rebellion and God refused to let me go. He called me home tirelessly and so now I am comforted to reside within his own fold. The Lord is my Shepherd…I shall not want.
And of course as others have said…there is no place else to go. When I have had a bad day…I can go directly to the Lord and no matter how much I cry, how angry I am, no matter how sad, how happy, how joyful…he never laughs at me, he never diminishes me and if I am in need, he offers me the sacraments so that I can be reconciled with him. I am Catholic because the Church answered all my questions and stood soundly in the face of my rebellion and the rebellion of countless others for centuries.

And will do so forever.

I’m Catholic by birth.

Why do I stay Catholic? How can I leave the Eucharist?

If I love the Eucharist, then love for the Church naturally follows.

I am a Catholic and will stay a Catholic because I was given the great treasure of having a Divine and Catholic faith. What a grace it is to be sure.
