Lately I’ve been wondering why we value beauty, in people and in things, so highly. If it’s only skin-deep as we say, why do we seem to regard it so highly and privilege it? Why for example are the people who read the news on television almost always so good-looking? Is our tendency to be beguiled by beauty a flaw of some sort?
