Why is being gay so condemned by the church?

I just don’t understand this at all. Now I realize in the Old Testemant it does say something about not sleeping with men if you are a man, but didn’t Jesus preach a message that everyone is loved and accepted into the kingdom of heaven? Why would we not respect and honor one of God’s creations just because they like the same sex. I am a staright male, I just don’t understand how people can say they follow Jesus when he loved ALL people, not just an exclusive group. And for all the people that still think being gay is a choice… you need to wake up. What person would willingly CHOOSE to subject themselves to mockery and being an outcast. Just something I’ve been wondering about.
