Jesus said that the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church.
Where in this statement does it say that the Church will be perfect? On the contrary, this passage means that the Church will be attacked again and again, and yet it will still stand for the gates of hell will not prevail. The fact that the evil one has corrupted church members and even high church officials is all the more proof of the attacks of hell. And yet, for 2000 years the church still stands.
One would think that for all those errors the ‘church’ has made, it would have fallen by now. It should, by the very fact that it’s members have become corrupt, have fallen flat. And it would have if God wasn’t involved. Something man made like that would have fallen like the Roman Empire. Yet the Catholic Church was not man made, it was God-made. and God Himself in the person of Christ promised that it would be here until the end of the age.
Since the Church is more than it’s members - being both God and It’s members - it will survive. If it merely consisted of people, it would have fallen.
So expect more things to happen in the Church. Christ promised us it would happen, and he promised many false prophets would follow to pull those that were not sound in their faith away from the Church. He promised a lot of things that have happened and are happening and no doubt will happen.
Anyway, if it’s not even close the the ‘true church’ then why do you trust a book produced by it?
God Bless,
