Well, they haven’t. you are quite correct. After all, here we are. But, Jesus said the gates of Hell wouldn’t prevail. He stated that Himself.

Actually, he is and he isn’t. He was invited, and he (evidently) signed on as someone who wanted to take a class, but before he could so much as attend one he was told he wasn’t welcome.(name removed by moderator) you are lying when you say Joseph Smith went to the Methodist church.
Bottom line, if the Methodist church was the true church of Christ, he would have been told to join them when he went to prayer. God the Father and Jesus Christ told him to join none the churches of the time.
Again you are lying.
He is wise to begin there, and then go to other sites later—and believe THEM only when they *do not contradict *what is on the official sites.thecourt- why do you believe “official sites” only?
Being a young grandfather, my heart broke when Clyde talked about the Mormons that feel trapped in the organization, because they want to attend their children and grandchildren weddings.People who give their lives to Mormonism dont leave because they were “offended”
Its a very painful and soul-wrenching experience to leave it.
But you just cant give your everything to a fraudulent organization when you finally see how it is a fraud.
Are you referring to Illinios or NY? Im not sure when diocese is part of this?Converts make the best Catechists!!! (I’m the exception to that rule I think)
The vast majority of our RCIA team is converts.
We have had Mormons, Anglicans, Orthodox, and even Muslims come through our program, and join the church.
We are very lucky to have about a 76% retention rate for new Catholics after 5 years. We are truly blessed as a parish, and a diocese. I’m sure we lose some because of moving, loss of faith, or just going through the motions to begin with, but we are thankful for each and everyone one.
Our diocese is ordaining priests and deacons at an amazing rate also. We are truly blessed.
Not to mention, we are the home Diocese for Archbishop Fulton Sheen. Seeing his cause sent to the Vatican was an awesome experience.
Very real and very heartbreaking/wrenching experience for those who can no longer attend the temple.Being a young grandfather, my heart broke when Clyde talked about the Mormons that feel trapped in the organization, because they want to attend their children and grandchildren weddings.
I’m from the Diocese of Peoria Illinois. Home of Caterpillar Inc. (you know, the big yellow construction equipment that blocks the highways all the timeAre you referring to Illinios or NY? Im not sure when diocese is part of this?
I have been following this and praying for it. I have his book “Life is Worth Living” and love watching the re-runs of it on EWTN.
I so wish I could go to the special Mass at St Patrick’s on Dec 9th for the 30 ann. of his death. (Im in the Hartford CT Archdiocese).
Oh I just check my letter (I donate for the cause) so I am guessing Peoria.![]()
OK, point out where JS history, which includes polygamy, can be found on an official LDS site. It isn’t even mentioned at the official LDS site that is about Smith and nothing but Smith. He is wise to begin there, and then go to other sites later—and believe THEM only when they *do not contradict *what is on the official sites.
last night on EWTN coming home net. there was a former high priest mormon who converted to be a Catholic. it was very emotional.
Yeah, If WS is correct there you people should like us better. You should be nicer to usWe don’t dislike you guys we are just trying to help ya out is all. Believe it or not I love the mormons too. I have alot of fun with you guys believe it or not. One of my favorite customers is mormon. I can tell he is not crazy about Catholics but he loves me. He wants me to show him why we believe what we do, and he really is confused. I can tell. I would never try to convert him, its not my job. I do hair not souls. I just figure if he does not become Catholic I will just screw up his next haircut
You know I am just kidding

How so? Look up the definition of “prevail…” and you see something about 'finally winning," or “succeed.” It does NOT mean 'temporarily have the upper hand." In order to “prevail,” you can’t ever be defeated. You make a great point. If Christ were being truthful when He declared this to Peter (and we all know He is), the the gates of Hell won’t prevail which means it was never taken from this earth.
The LDS dogma of the apostacy and the idea that is WAS taken from this earth and had to be “restored” is a direct contradiction of the the Lord said and makes Him a liar.
You say that like being an LDS high priest was something unique. Any Mormon man who lives long enough will become one, y’know. In fact, most of 'em are high priests by the time they’re 35 or 40.last night on EWTN coming home net. there was a former high priest mormon who converted to be a Catholic. it was very emotional.
We believe that it began at the ending years of the first century BC, and was completed when the priesthood was removed…when the last apostle died. After that the church did a good job of holding to most of the truths, but it went ‘off the rails’ in some pretty important things…to be expected when even IT denied that there could be prophets or prophecy guiding things.dianaiad,
When exactly did this ‘apostasy’ take place?
You know what it was on today in the afternoon, I saw the end of it. It was amazing. He showed how messed up things are in that Church. He said for awhile he was so afraid to trust anyone, that how many lies he was fed. But it was so great when he said that he walked into the CC and God came to him loved him.last night on EWTN coming home net. there was a former high priest mormon who converted to be a Catholic. it was very emotional.
No, Here it is. Either You have to say that Jesus Christ is a liar. or you are going to have to face the Truth that he is not a liar and you are misled. Simple as that.We believe that it began at the ending years of the first century BC, and was completed when the priesthood was removed…when the last apostle died. After that the church did a good job of holding to most of the truths, but it went ‘off the rails’ in some pretty important things…to be expected when even IT denied that there could be prophets or prophecy guiding things.
I guess…when it was decided that all the scripture was written already, I suppose.
If the Priesthood was removed how can the RCC prove and name every single Pope since Peter? How can that be possible. We believe that it began at the ending years of the first century BC, [SIGN]and was completed when the priesthood was removed[/SIGN]…when the last apostle died. After that the church did a good job of holding to most of the truths, but it went ‘off the rails’ in some pretty important things…to be expected when even IT denied that there could be prophets or prophecy guiding things.

Doesn’t the Catholic Church say just before Christ comes back, many will leave the Church and the Church will have a major battle on it’s hands? (paraphrased, of course)You know what it was on today in the afternoon, I saw the end of it. It was amazing. He showed how messed up things are in that Church. He said for awhile he was so afraid to trust anyone, that how many lies he was fed. But it was so great when he said that he walked into the CC and God came to him loved him.
But he did say the main point. That cannot prove the Church Apostatize. It’s impossible. And without that no need for Joseph Smith. which means no true doctrine.
They cannot say that the Church Apostatized without saying Jesus Lied. Its as simple as that. Scripture blows them out of the water. ANd they know it.
I think we are pretty close to this, if you ask me…Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.
Oh I don’t remember her saying that?[SIGN]You say that like being an LDS high priest was something unique. [/SIGN]Any Mormon man who lives long enough will become one, y’know. In fact, most of 'em are high priests by the time they’re 35 or 40.
However, if you want to think that this is some real feather in your cap…be my guest.
That’s just it we will never know. Only God knows. But I personally cannot wait for him to come back. But I am just glad that we have stayed on track. If its me and the Pope in the end so be it. But I will stick with the RCC until God takes me home.Doesn’t the Catholic Church say just before Christ comes back, many will leave the Church and the Church will have a major battle on it’s hands? (paraphrased, of course)
And they mean ‘just before’ Christ comes. Meaning that when this happens, know that the Lord is near…
I’m going to search for this in the Catechism…
Ahh, here it is: CCC 675:
I think we are pretty close to this, if you ask me…
