I came across this news clip from Australia in line (but more seriously however) with what we are discussing here about Easter.

network.nationalpost.com/NP/blogs/holy-post/archive/2010/04/06/easter-crucifixion-re-enactment-shut-down-archbishop-regrets-ignorance-of-holiday.aspx

As the Archbishop of York (England), John Sentamu, reportedly said in a sermon, it was disappointing to realize that many children thought Easter was a holiday to celebrate the Easter bunny’s birthday.
i already had my wife agree that we won’t teach our kids about secular practices during religious holidays

so no Santa Claus and Easter Bunnies for our kids

i bet other parents will hate me when my kid breaks it to their kids that Santa Claus is not real 😃

Yes, I caught your general point, and don’t disagree with it.

How would you like some ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, 7-layer salad, dessert, etc. (We have a lot of mouths at the table these days.) I think I actually look forward more to the Easter feast (gastronomically speaking) than Christmas.
after all the fasting and abstinence, a slice of bacon on Easter actually feels like Christmas dinner for me 😃
