Hi,
It was on Friday that God suffered and died for the people He created from nothing, On that day He revealed something about Himself that no human being could ever have envisioned. The Jewish people, with all the revelation that they had received, still were not prepared for a God who would suffer and die for them. Islam was never to comprehend a God that could show anything other than fierce power.
But die He did–and Fridays have never been the same. So we abstain from meat on Fridays of Lent and perform some act of sacrificial love for Him on the othe Fridays of the year in response to the love He showed us with His passion. I will send you a reflection privately on what took place on that Friday that is the center of history and the center of our lives.
