If you’re a non muslim, whats your reasoning as to why islam isn’t true.
If you’re a muslim, why are you a muslim, and what about islam makes you believe it to be true? Please be civil

I can’t speak for the Christians on here but I’m guessing you’ll get the usual arguments against Islam. I’m curious to know what it is you’re looking to achieve with this question?

I’m trying to see how people of different faiths rationalize their own beliefs compared to other. For example as a Catholic I would say that no Protestant church is the true church because they lack apostolic succession. Things like that essentially.

Islam, like ALL religions, is fallible since it is based, at least in part, on the interpretation of humans, whether or not they believe themselves to be divinely inspired.

They deny who Christ is, God incarnate, and thus are wrong and deny God.

I would say Islam is false for the same reason other religions are, it claims an all loving God-yet the actions done by God according to Christianity are far more loving than those by God in Islam. Becoming flesh, being beaten, spat upon, and crucified all to save a poor sinner’s soul. Islam says God did not go this far. Both faiths say that God infinitely loves his people, but in Christianity God actually acts on that love, so he truly loves his people, if he hadn’t, like Islam claims, then God doesn’t love us as much as he says.

  1. Because Catholicism is true (in other words, I find compelling reasons to believe in Catholicism that I have not found in Islam, hence I accept Catholicism)
  2. Because I find no solid evidence for Islam
  3. Because the fruits of Islam are not like the Fruits of Christianity
  4. Because Islam, like Protestants, lacks central authority
  5. Because the idea of Jesus being a prophet doesn’t make a lot of sense on many different levels.
  6. Because on many different levels, Islam to me seems more simplistic in flavor where as Catholicism seems to be the most intellectually strong and deep

Islam is wrong because they deny Christ crucified, and they deny that He was the Son of God.

Jesus Himself put it perfectly: 'He that receives you receives me, and he that receives me receives him that sent me. Matt 10:40

’'Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.’ 1 John 2:23

They may say that they share a belief in the God of Israel of the Old Testament with Jews and Christians, but by Jesus’ own words, they do not. You cannot have the Father if you deny the Son.

Jesus knew that false prophets would arise and lead billions astray, and Muhammad is one of these false prophets. It is sadly difficult to teach the truth to many Muslims because they will not listen. They are blind to the light of the glory of the gospel of Christ because they have been deceived by the Father of Lies, thinking he is God! It is also difficult to convert from Islam and in many Islamic countries, you will be imprisoned or put to death for converting to Christianity.

Hello,
mankind is carnally minded. Being carnally minded blinds mankind to the spiritual to a great extent. Jesus came on a carnal level, in the flesh, to open our eyes to the spiritual. He shows us that God is entirely loveable. Jesus is God’s mercy and compassion towards mankind. He is love incarnate. He is also God’s plea to mankind. Look what our friend sin did to him. We find sin isn’t such a good friend after all. He is our Saviour who suffered, died and rose again. Our wounds are healed in his when we take our wounds to him. We wound ourselves every time that we sin. Jesus is our greatest friend.

Islam has an entirely carnal vision. Islamic men can take up to 4 wives which goes against faithfulness towards one wife and the commandment of God in which two become one flesh. Islam has an entirely carnal vision of heaven that isn’t removed from being sexually orientated with 72 virgins waiting each male. It denies salvation in Jesus and claims to be salvation. Islam is based on fear. Try and leave it.

Love tells me Salvation is in Jesus. We who are Christians are greatly privileged.

God bless.

One of my biggest problems with accepting Islam was its claim that the Old and New Testament scriptures had been significantly corrupted to the point where their original meaning was changed.

Studying the history of the scriptures and learning about the different manuscripts around, I just couldn’t see where they had morphed so much over time that their original meaning would have supported Islam.

I am not a Muslim & my reasoning that Islam isn’t true is that I see from the very beginning of Christianity a Church with Bishops who taught & passed down the Faith unaltered - Jesus Christ is God.

Hello OxygenMan,
there is a video on Youtube of a former muslim who was a hardened Islamic terrorist. He considered the bible to be poison in his hands. He was given the job of proving how the scriptures in the bible had changed. He was very reluctant. Once he began he found it increasingly harder. So he decided to prove the Quran instead. That was when he converted to Christianity. The Quran fell down.

God bless you.

Hi. Welcome to the Forum. Without going into the details, as a Christian my objection to Islam really goes down to the basic - there is no new revelation after the coming of Jesus Christ. ‘It is finished’ and we are reminded of that even on this Palm Sunday. The mission was completed on Calvary and now it is a time of choice and reckoning. Which side we are?

Islam has introduced a set of revelations on the basis that all preceding religions were failed religions and thus the justification for its existence. This, if true, would make the word of Jesus false when he said that the Gate of Hell will not prevail against the Church he founded.

Firstly let me say that I pray for the Muslim people. Why?

Well, it is clear to me they they have been fed by revisionism of Abrahams deeds. Considering he could NOT have come to present day Mecca. 2nd the Hagar story is re-enacted at Mecca where she was looking for water. This search for water shows Muslims are still looking for the true Living Water.

What they don’t realize is that their belief in a prophet Jesus is answered in actuality that He is the Living Water thus not just a prophet but the quencher of the thirst. The real Saviour of he world. No longer slaves like Hagar but free. Yet they live looking for Whom quenches the Thirst.

Thus there are elements of Truth in Islam and with the prayers of Mother Mary may they find that Peace that can come only with the acceptance her Son True God and True Man.
