Can a muslim tell us why is there such an opposing view between the 2?

Quran S:33:37 - When thou saidst to him whom allah had blessed and thou hadst favoured, ‘Keep thy wife to thyself, and fear allah,’ and thou wast CONCEALING WITHIN THYSELF what allah should reveal, FEARING OTHER MEN; and Allah has better right for thee to fear Him. So when Zaid had accomplished what he would of her, THEN WE GAVE HER IN MARRIAGE TO THEE, so that there should not be any fault in the believers, touching the wives of their adopted sons, when they have accomplished what they would of them; and allah’s commandment must be performed.

Above is the incident where Muhammad took over his adopted son’s beautiful wife after he saw her naked while changing clothes and muhammad’s allah approved of it.

BUT…see what God teaches in the Torah.

Deuteronomy 24:4 her first husband, who divorced her, is not allowed to marry her again for she has been defiled. That would be DETESTABLE in the eyes of the LORD. Do not bring sin upon the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance. Leviticus 21:7 " 'They must not marry women defiled by prostitution or Divorced from their husbands, because priests are holy to their God.

NOTICE THE STARK DIFFERENCE?

The moral standards of Yahweh God dictates that a woman who is divorced and marries another defiles the man. It is a detestable act in the eyes of God.

YET…islam’s allah ENCOURAGES re-marriages. Muslims today practice the Talaq and many marry and divorce their wives who goes on to the next man and then gets divorced a 2nd time and then the 1st husband marries them back. Sometimes, these wifes marries their relatives after divorce.

GOD defined it as DETESTABLY DEFILING, BUT ALLAH encourages it.

WHY?

Well,
I’ve asked this question too sometime ago,
most muslims will defend this by saying blah…blah…blah, means no answer was really convincing.
In Indonesia, the government is thinking of applying the law of prohibiting the “niqah sirri” which means unregistered marriage or unofficial marriage or more likely a hidden marriage, because it leads to many unregistered children, runaway husbands, disapproved polygamy etc. Eventually the muslims are splitting because some insist that that kind of marriage was allowed by islamic law, while many disagree saying that a lawful marriage in Islam is supposed to be announced to public. So even Koran itself leads its believers to different directions.

Sorry not to address your question, instead insert some other odd things about Islam.

Islam is a religion invented in Arabic culture, that it’s so much influenced by it. Allah seems to adopt that cultural way in “his so called revelation”.

Yes, it basically shows that deep in some of these muslims’ consciences, they know that it is something immoral but somehow since they are captive followers of islam, so they are split within even themselves.

The short and truthful answer really is just this - islam’s allah is NOT God. It is something else.

For what it’s worth, I was just in Indonesia last week (went for Ash Wednesday service infact at a Catholic church there and it was packed! ) but they do have the Catholic University right in downtown Jakarta.

There a many converts to Catholicism and they continue to increase.

Well, as though I am not trying to hijack the thread by telling something not related to it, should tell you that I am a native Indonesian, fact is that though Indonesia is a largest muslim country, the country’s ideology is not found on islamic sharia, but on a rather unity on diversity principle because of it’s historic background.

Catholic constitute almost 6 percent of a 250 millions population, it has its rather big chunk of population in big cities like Jakarta which is more diverse than other parts.
We do have Chatolic Universities in many other major cities that accept many of their students from other religion (which is different situation than the Islamic Universities for sure!).

So don’t be surprised. I am rather surprised by your observation (base on what?) that we have many converts from Islam and growing population from it. I would say that the situation is rather vice versa, we get some converts from Islam, but do have so many from us converted to it, especially through mix marriage which is very common considering Catholic is the minority.

NOTICE THE STARK DIFFERENCE?
Hm, was Mohammed marrying a wife he’d already divorced and who had subsequently been divorced by her next husband (or the next husband had died)?

Since Mohammed was not of the Jewish priestly tribe the Leviticus admonition would not apply.

Just as a matter of observation, be careful not to confuse ‘defilement’ and ‘ritual defilement’.

:dts:worst than that, Muhammed allowed 4 wives at a time, but he took for himself at least 11 excluding the right hand possess.
**Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 5, Number 268: **
Narrated Qatada: Anas bin Malik said, “The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number.” I asked Anas, “Had the Prophet the strength for it?” Anas replied, “We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty (men).” And Sa’id said on the authority of Qatada that Anas had told him about nine wives only (not eleven).

A good set of guidelines which we can use to measure moral standards would be the Ten Commandmentsand they are indeed found in the Qu’ran.

And so, there is really no difference between the moral standards taught in Islam and those taught by Prophets Moses and Jesus (pbut).

I think that the OP is more concerned with why some of the details changed. And, possibly, why the same rules did not apply to Muhammed

The Ten Commandments were revealed to Prophet Moses (pbuh) as a divine guide for the ancient Israelites and they have since been superseded by the Qur’an which has been revealed for all of humankind.

To put it another way, although the Ten Commandments were adequate at the time of Prophet Moses (pbuh), they were crude and they have since been refined to suit the needs of all of humankind till the world comes to an end and these refined divine laws are now found in the Qur’an which is the Last Testament of the Lord.

And finally, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not do any “crime” that the earlier Prophets (peace be upon them all) did not also do.

IN short what you are trying to say is that today you can call this piece of material faecal matter. The next day you supersede what you said and stuff it into your mouth?

No offense, but this is precisely what you are attempting here.

Very clearly, allah is recommending a practice that has been declared defilingly unclean previously by Yahweh God.

And there is really only just ONE answer for this. Islam’s allah is NOT the God that saved the Jews in the exodus. Saying otherwise would be blasphemy.

Is a ritual defilement clean? So, to you there’s a difference between jumping into a cesspool on your own and jumping into a cesspool in an official cesspool jumping competition? Cos one is less unclean than the other??? Gosh, you really showed me why Jesus frequently get exasperated deliberating concepts to the Pharisees.

That’s almost as impressive as the opening post.

True or false: Muhammed was allowed more wives than the Qur’an allows to other men

Muhammad was allowed more wives, against what was instructed by allah. Muhammad was forgiven for lying to the quaryish tribesmen. Muhammad was justified for wanting his adopted son’s wife, Muhammad was approved of having an infant girl as wife, Muhammad killed his enemies and robbed them and then took their wives and allah approved of it all.

What does this tell you?

**Whoever allah was, it JUSTIFIED THE SINS OF MUHAMMAD.
**

In other words, there is no such thing as sin for muhammad despite trespassing clear instructions. Such a man makes a mockery of law. And to say that he brings law to the masses is a greater mockery of the sanity of the people.

Well, the thing is, whether Mohammed was naughty or not, the only basis you’ve got of accusing him on this thread is on your complete misreading and misinterpretation of Torah.

Mosacked,
A case in Indonesia (majority is muslim): one of their mullah married a young girl aged around 10 (after having 3 wives), most muslims in Indonesia were outraged saying that it’s against the state’s law and against/abuse the rights of children. He was taken by the police to face the court. On his defense, this mullah said that he was only emulating what Muhammad did. Then again the muslims having known this kind of defense were saying that the situation is different in Muhammad’s time, so they were still sticking to their believe that Muhammad is still one of the noblest people on earth…🤷
So this mullah eventually were released after only been in jail for couple of months.

I think muslims are the most willing hostage of their own belief, thinking that their worshiping of one deity is the answer and only answer for the truth in their religion no matter the other abusive teaching or examples given by its founder.

Any mis-reading is entirely in your confused mind.

Willing hostages are made by 2 ways. 1 personal ignorance. 2 external lack of information.

Muslims are born INTO islamic families and 1 - prohibited from challenging islamic theories. 2 - in environments where there are serious droughts of secular information that is different from theirs.

They live in entirely different worlds from us. And since everyone is taught to emulate the person who gave them very bad examples, the only way out for them really is to show that the person they are emulating was a fraud and not worth emulating. Otherwise, the thing will keep repeating itself over and over again.

If the world is to save people from islam, it must begin by pumping in secular information and allowing complete religious freedom.

Well, whether I have a confused mind or not, the scriptures you chose as the basis of your argument apply, in the first case, to remarriage to a previously divorced wife who had subsequently married another man and had been divorced or widowed and, in the second case to a member of the priest tribe.

Neither was the case with Mohammed.
