Why is it a downer when a priest from an order becomes a Diocesan Bishop?

Did I say Albany?
“Upstate” also includes Syracuse and Rochester 😃
Can’t I say I’ve been to Albany? 😃

Upstate also comprises Buffalo and Ogdensburg, in addition to Albany, Rochester and Syracuse. The new Bishops in Buffalo and Ogdensburg are wonderful. The recent retirement of the Bishop of Rochester and the appointment of the Bishop of Syracuse as Administrator in Rochester certainly bodes well as the Flower City awaits the appointment of a new Ordinary.

Things are changing in Upstate…and no doubt better days are ahead…at least they can’t get much worse.

In my diocese, our Bishop is Gregory John Hartmayer, OFM. Conv. and our priests love him!
