You see, the question of how to interpret the Holy Scriptures is essentially related to that of the authority of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, you can’t separate the Holy Scriptures, the Sacred Tradition and the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. They go together just like the 3 persons of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, always go together, never one without the other. This is how it is in the Catholic Church, whether you like it or not…Which is why they is an authority in the Catholic Church to guide us the faithful, because it would be so easy to interpret the verses of the Sacred Scriptures to fit our personal views. The Church ( Assembly of Jesus’ disciples) precedes the New Testament, you know! And there is not just the written Tradition, but also the oral Tradition… Don’t try to interpret it outside the authoritative interpretation of the Magisterium of the Church, you might come out with many frankly funny interpretations not in tune with the Spirit of God… as many have come with in the course of history, BTW!
