*Dear Mary, *

You are the Mother of God and my mother too (Lk.2:1-51, Rev. 12:17). You were the perfect Mother and the perfect disciple (Lk.1:46-56, Acts 1:14)). Mary, you were the one chosen (handpicked/ Mt. 1:23, Lk.1:27-38) by God, from all time and all woman (Gn. 3:15 Rv. 12:1-17) to be the Mother of God.

You are the precious vessel and the way my Lord entered the world (Is.7:14, Lk1:31, Mt. 1:16, 23, Lk.2:34-35. Mt.2:11).

You have always done the “will of our heavenly Father” and are by Jesus’ definition, His “brother, and sister, and mother” (His loyal servant, follower and disciple-
Lk.1:46-56*, Acts 1:14). *

Please pray for me (Romans. 15:30) that I may always be a loyal follower of your Son as you are (Lk.1:45). You have shown me how to Love your Son.

You are the only person who ever lived that was with Jesus from the beginning, until the end, at the foot of His cross (
Jn.19:25-27).

You held the baby Jesus in your arms, loving Him and protecting Him, (
Lk.2:7) never letting Him go, until he was taken from you at the Cross (Gn. 3:15, Rv. 12:6, Lk. 2:19, 34-35, 48-51, Jn.19:25-27). You never denied him or left Him. You remained quite because you knew that you would have to suffer so that the rest of mankind might be saved (Luke 2:34, 35*). *

You were there in the upper room during Pentecost (Acts 1:14*). *

*As for your name in scripture, there exists not a single word against you. There is no finer example of a person who has completely surrendered himself to the will of God, as you, Mary. *

You were truly, madly in love with your Son Jesus and who from the beginning; you knew He was “God with us”(Lk.1:31-33,** Isaiah 1:14-15).

Your perfect expression of surrender, “May it be done to me according to your word”(Lk.1:38) is the source of my strength. (Luke 1:46-56).

Mary, you kept many things in your heart and reflected on them (
Lk.2:19, Lk. 2:51), you truly knew the Lord before any of the apostles and He knew you (Lk.1:31-32, Lk.2:24-35,Luke 1:27-38*). *

When you brought the baby Jesus to Simeon, His destiny was revealed to you; before any other disciples knew, you knew! (Lk.2:34*) *

“A sword pierced your own heart, so that the thoughts of many hearts would be known”(Luke 2:34, 35*). *

I can only imagine how you suffered and the strength that you must have needed, to continue on to the very end, to the foot of His cross (Jn.19:25-27*). *

I love you Mary, thank you.

You encouraged Him at the wedding at Cana, the point in which your Son Jesus and our Lord, began His ministry, when you said, “do as He says”, may these words always be a reminder to me to, “do as He says”.(
Jn. 2:1-4, 12).

You loved Jesus with all of your heart, all of your soul, all of your mind and all of your strength. Has there been anyone as devoted to my Lord, as you?
(Lk.1:46-56) Blessed Mary, the Lord is with you (Lk.1:28), you are blessed among all women (Lk.1:42) and all generation will consider you blessed (Lk.1:46-48). You have been reunited with your Lord (Rv. 11:19, 12:, 1Thess.4:17), how sweet that must be. Mary, my mother, please pray for me that the Lord have mercy on me a sinner and that one day I can come home to the Lord.

*Thank you Mary and pray for me that I may always think of your great example of love, sacrifice and surrender. One cannot think about you, Mary, without thinking about your son, Jesus. *

I am madly in love with you and I am madly in love with your son, my lord Jesus Christ. May my focus allows be on Christ, as you were always focused on Him.

*Your son and Christ’s loyal follower, *

just fantastic. Thanks.

I think Jesus would be quite hurt if we didn’t love His mother!

We would be breaking one of the Ten Commandments if we did not love Mary!!!

I asked him to pray for me yesterday, I guess I should at least listen to him. I intend on trying to get through the entire series, as well as his book Treasure in Clay.👍

He was truly an Apostle of Common Sense, while at the same time very articulate and eloquent, one of the greatest orators’ of the twentieth century and a great Defender of the Faith, in words and deeds.

Of course I love Mary, the mother of God, but I’ve never heard anyone say it was wrong to love Mary.
Jimmy seems to have a personal problem here. Almost every post he creates he talks about Mary.

Jimmy what about Jesus???

HE is the reason we love Mary!!
We are called to be Christlike.
Christ followed the 10 commandments perfectly.
This includes Him honoring His mother and Father.
By honoring Mary, we are following in His footsteps.

I believe Jimmy is just trying to help everyone do what Jesus wants us to do and that is to honor Mary.

The last gift Jesus ever gave us was Mary, as our Mother!

There might be some Catholics who revere her too much, but I believe Protestants are not owning up to their responsibility to honor her.

Imagine watching your son being killed on a cross and now everyone is fighting about you.

Loving Mary is no more wrong than a man loving his wife or his earthly mother…certainly someone’s spouse is not being worshipped with all the attention a husband gives her.

I feel, if Protestants want to own up to their belief that it is all about Jesus, then they should stop going to movies, stop having friends, stop looking for a person to marry, because that is taking their focus away from Jesus.

Why do I get the feeling we will be singing, :“If loving you is wrong, I don’t wanna be right!”

I think its very nice that people are so concerned about what catholics believe could lead someone to danger. I just wish they had a good argument for doing so. And, they most likely are simply trying to aid those they feel are straying from the flock.
Thats love.

I agree. Especially with how I am sure some Catholics take Marian devotion a bit too far, I can see how non-Catholics (or even Catholics) could be concerned they are verging on worshipping her.

If anyone has attended a Catholic Mass, it becomes quite clear we reserve worship to God alone.

The Gloria, what a wonderful prayer of praise!

Glory to God in the Highest and peace to His people on earth!
Lord God, Heavenly King, Almighty God and Father!
We worship You, we give You thanks, we praise You for Your Glory!
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God.
You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us!
You are seated at the right hand of the Father, receive our prayer!
For you alone are the Holy One!
You alone are the Lord!
You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ!
With the Holy Spirit in the Glory of God the Father!
Amen!

Yep, went to one legit Mass and in it I saw almost no devotion to Mary whatsoever. I could not even find a statue of her, or anything, until I was taking my last glance, I noticed that on the right side of the altar (from my view) there appeared to be a wall hanging of her image off to the side. I may have missed it altogether if I had not taken that last glance. From what I read, thats not even the historical place for her to be in a catholic church. Apparently, its far more customary for her to be at the viewers Left hand side, and Joseph on the right. This parish had no Joseph. Rather sad actually. In a weird way, it made me sad.

It is wrong to love Mary…ONLY…if we love her more than Jesus!

Anywho…I am not familiar with that left and right thing. I will have to do some research (Thanks!)

When people talk about statue worship…I would like to point out how we have statues of our past Presidents…I know (well…hope) nobody worships them.

notsmart:
Imagine living a saintly life and dying a martyrs death and in your honor, as someone who lived completely for Christ and even died for your faith in Him, the faithful you left behind made a statue of you. Not because they want to worship you, but because they want to be reminded that a real person actually does live their life for Christ. Your statue would be an in-your-face reminder that “someone else did it…so we better too!”

Heck, you might even have a church named after you.

Though…the “St. notsmart Catholic Church” would probably not be the best of names…LoL!!!
