Can you expand that idea of Mary’s womb being defiled if she and her husband procreated? That’s a new one on me.

One thing to remember is that when a Catholic says they are praying to Mary it does not mean they are worshipping her. Catholics, just like Protestants, beleive worship is reserved for God alone. The best way to think of prayer to Mary would be like a prayer chain. She is a link in the chain just as one may ask a friend on earth to pray for someone or some cause. Asking her to take our request to God is not wrong. After all she is a little closer to God than we are. Please remember Jesus and Mary are on the same team. They are not going against each other. Mary always leads us to Jesus.

What’s so magical about it? Mary concieved and carried God in her womb, and remained a virgin for the rest of her life. It doesnt take magic to remain a virgin. But it takes the fullness and purest of grace to concieve and bare God.

A protestant would never pray to a friend. Protestants only pray to God. We believe there is no reason to pray to anyone, or anything else, God is sufficient. Maybe our God is more accessible than your God.
God knows everything, right? So why do you think you need help getting His attention? My God hears me when I pray directly to Him. He doesn’t need to be urged to listen to me or anyone else.
I think you dilute God when you have so many other intercessors between you and God. If you have an all knowing, all powerful God, what more could you possibly need?

Basically you are saying that having sex defiles a woman. I reject that in total. Sex does not in any way defile a woman. Furthermore, I do not need an immaculate conception. In fact I think it a little silly to need that for your faith.

This isn’t an excuse for Protestants molesting children at a rate of 14/1 is it?
A) Pedophilia is “not” a Doctrine of The Catholic Church
B) The Church is made up of fallible men (remember them? like the 11 Apostles who abandoned Christ and the 1 who completely turned on Him?)
C) Statistiacally speaking, The Catholic Church’s Priesthood is much holier than were the Apostles if you’re going by faults. The Apostles were 8% corrupt. The Priesthood? Try less than .05%. Point Zero Five Percent (240 out of 50,000 Priests in the US).
So, with a child being molested in a Protstant Church every 20 minutes as compared to 1 1/2 days for a Priest, why is it that Protestants should be mad again?
They need to clean their own houses and take the log out of their own eyes before trying to take the splinter out of ours.
And if you can’t understand a Church having problems that’s guided by The Holy Spirit, then you must “REALLY” have problems with the Apostles. What they did was worse.
That’s why you should not judge for in the measure that ye judge, so shall ye be judged.
Now, can we have a conversation without ever having the 240 pedophile Priests brought up to try to bring out skeletons?
If we can, I promise I won’t talk about the 3,500 incidents that go on yearly in Protestant churches.

I never said pray to a friend. I said pray “for” someone. SO you’re saying if a loved one was very ill and close to death you don’t want or need anyone to pray for her. Wow! I don’t know what to say.

Don’t put words in my mouth. It isn’t that having sex that would defile Mary, it’s you CLAIMING she had sex that defiles Mary because she WAS a virgin for her entire life. Look at the works of the early church fathers. Better yet, look at John’s gospel when Jesus dies upon the Cross. If he had brothers, he wouldn’t have given Mary to John.
You don’t need an immaculate conception? Well guess what…it doesn’t matter what you need, it’s what God did. God allowed Mary to be born free of orginial sin so that the womb which carried him would be pure and unblemished as it would be the ark of the new covenant and could not be stained.
It’s not that we need it for our faith ethier, it’s that it’s truth. The english bible calls Mary highly favored. The orginal sciptures call her something much different; Kecharitomene “she who was and continues to be graced”

That is because you don’t understand the difference between the Holy Body with which Christ has joined Himself, and the sinful persons that compose it.
Eph 5:25-28
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish."
So, are you saying Christ did not give His life for her?
Do you deny that he sanctified her? You say she is not holy? She has not been cleansed by the water and the word?
People have spots and blemishes, but the church Jesus created does not. I think you are not seeing the Church as made of something more than that fallible humans. the church is the Body of Christ, and it’s soul is the HS. That is what makes it without blemish.
Furthermore, the use of the phrase “your church” indicates that you don’t understand that THERE IS ONLY ONE CHURCH. Jesus did not found’ churches". We are all members of the ONE BODY.
