Why is life so hard?

I mean, most Catholics who devoutly believe in Jesus Christ find life hard, but imagine how hard it is for a nonbeliever.

You have to accept that God exists, and Jesus Christ was resurrected, and he founded the infallible, indestructible Catholic Church, and you have to be faithful to Him, His word and live as a good Catholic.

How hard do you think it is for a non-believer to get into heaven? Ones who live a life of good works and good morality, but just logically cannot conclude that Christ is Lord?
 
You hit it on the money. It is very difficult for nonbelievers. If you don’t believe in Christ, then why would you abstain from sin? On top of that, the people who do the most good deeds are driven by religion, so again, why would you be driven to to good if it is to no avail? I believe that the nonbelievers who get to heaven are those who secretly do believe, and have a moral compass. But they are afraid to admit it, and question a lot of things, but deep down have a core system of beliefs.

I have seen someplace that the world is a poor home, but a great gymnasium. Life is for spiritual exercise and growth.
