Why is Micheal the arc angle called a saint?

this is a wierd question, but one I’ve always wondered about. we talk about the “angels and the saints” praying for us. so shouldn’t that mean that the angels are one group and us humans are the saints? so why is the arc angel micheal a saint? it just seems odd to me. anyone know the answer?
 
Saint literally comes from the Latin word ‘sanctus’, which simply means ‘Holy’. Applied to objects (eg the Bible) as well as people, whether or not they’ve been officially canonised (eg ‘the communion of saints’)

I think all Catholics would agree that the Archangel Michael, though not human, is very holy indeed, and deserving of the title ‘Holy’.
