Why is missing Mass a mortal sin?

I was reading over your (Fr. Serpa) answer to “Is not attending Sunday Mass is a sin” Your response was that it is a mortal sin. Can you please show me in the Bible where it says its a mortal sin. I have not seen it or I might have not understood the verse(s). A P.M would be sufficent if you dont care to repost this. Thank You and God Bless.
