You’re obfuscating again. The OP is about why Muhammad is the greatest, so why don’t you tell us why you think he is?

I have already opted out this thread on that matter. The prophet Muhammad has to be greatest of all prophets of God. He is not greater than a god (Jesus). I had also mentioned that Muhammad was a messenger of God. There were other messengers too, many of them. We Muslims do not distinguish between any of the messengers. So I cannot say that Muhammad was greater than other messengers.

Yes, this is a complete exercise in futility. Have you read your post, you keep contradicting yourself over and over.:o

Ralphinal , Please try to understand that being from the line of a king are called the princes. Unless they become a king themselves, they remain princes and they are not called kings. If a king has four sons, they will all be princes. If any of them later becomes a king, then only he will be called the king, not the other three. The other three will remain as princes.

In a similar way, even though Jesus hailed from king David a.s. he did not become a king here in this world as was david himself here in this world. For that reason we cannot call Jesus to be the king.

Jesus also did not claim the throne of david from the romans. The problem is that the Jews of the times had the hope of getting back the throne of david through their Messiah. They were not interested in their spiritual improvement. They were interested in politics and wordly gains. They were hoping that their Messiah will bring them back the throne of david.

The messiah (Jesus) would have got them the throne too if only they had listened to him and followed him. But they saw that the Messiah had come to them without any power, without any wordly charm. So they became disgusted or hopeless and denied him and opposed him too much.
That was the end of the throne of david a.s. and the kingship of Jesus a.s.
I see your point now. What about the fact that he said that his kingdom was not of this world? Would that not imply that he is still a king?

Hi

In all the matter of religion, we Muslims believe first what Quran has mentioned. Quran has given a detailed account of Jesus’ and Mary’s life and their concepts but Quran has not mentioned Jesus as a king or he had any kingdom, if at all it was only a figure of speech at the most.

Jesus was accepted by many nations when he migrated to East from Galilee alongwith Mary after the event of Crucifixion , from which God made good his escape. Jesus was called among other titles as PrincelyProphet ( ShahzadahNabi) in Kashmir. One could access if one likes, Jesus in India, a book written by the PromisedMessiah 1835-1908 for a detailed accouht in this connection:

Thanks

Please allow me to put a point on this.

According to Muslims: Jesus is a prophet, and an important one.
According to Christians: Jesus is God

According to Muslims: Muhammad is the greatest prophet (but that may be because he was last)
Accroding to Christians: Muhammid is not a valid prophet because he denies Jesus’s divinity.

Accoding to some posters: no point to this thread
According to others: this is a great thread.

*“Say (O Muslims): we believe in Allah and that which is revealed to us and that which was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael, and Isaac and Jacob, and their children, and that which Moses and Jesus received and that the prophets received from their Lord. **We make no distinction between any of them **and unto Him we have surrendered.”
(Quran 2:136) *
(go read this it’s extensive about Prophethood in Islam)

In one of my previous posts, I had explained that Muhammad was a messenger of Allah. So was Jesus, a messenger of Allah. We Muslims do not differentiate between any of the messengers.

Christians believe that jesus was a god, perhaps a smaller god. He had a God too because on the cross he cried out “O my God, O my God, Why have you forsaken me?” That clearly shows that Jesus had a God.

Yes I am also a Muslim and know this to be true that we don’t differentiate… but it seems many of the non-Muslims here seem to think that we do. Just trying to take it back to the Quran for them to see that we don’t…
