Why is the Blessed Sacrament hidden when reposed?

I have been going to a Holy League Holy Hour for men and I noticed when the priest or deacon reposes the Blessed Sacrament at the end of Benediction, he will remove it from the monstrance and then hide it in his vestments while he carries it to the tabernacle. What is the meaning behind this? I’ve never noticed it before and wondered what the significance is.

Thank you for your time.

It is simply a sign of respect for the Blessed Sacrament. It is handled and treated as a precious gift.
