Why is the name of the Messiah translated as "Jesus"?

Greetings I was wondering when the name Jesus was put on paper since the messiah’s name is yasuha
 
In Hebrew His name was Yehoshua/Yeshua which in Greek was translated as Iēsous which was later “Latinized” into Jesus.

In Western Christianity the Latinized version of the name is what stuck in history. If history had translated the name from Hebrew instead of Greek or Latin then perhaps we’d refer to the messiah as Joshua.
