Why is the pope being sued in texas?

Pope wants head-of-state immunity from Texas suit
What I do not understand is that the article seems to indicate that it is Pope Benedict himself who is being sued, not the Church. What is the point here? I would think the pope does not have any personal wealth to speak of. Does he come from a rich family? Or are they just trying to make a political point?

Not a political point, but a legal point. He is out of U.S. jurisdiction and judgment proof in any case.
 
This is what happens when the Vatican attempts to interfer in the Judicial affairs of he USA like in Boston .The Catholic chuch in America is subject to he Laws of the USA, especialy when it specificaly places itself under them.
 
they always throw us to lions but the ones with shaggy manes are nicer than the masters of death frequenting courts.
