OK - first, please forgive me a little because indulgences are one area of Catholic theology that is hard for me (and many) to wrap their heads around. With that said, here is my take. How do indulgences have nothing to do with prayer being more powerful? A post from the previous thread said, " I spent the first week of November visiting cemeteries every day because you can get a special indulgence to help the Poor Souls in Purgatory by visiting a cemetery to pray, and you can get it once a day from Nov 1 to Nov 8." This suggests prayer is more powerful from Nov 1 to Nov 8, and I am asking why? Why would God care about the time a prayer is said when granting indulgences?
I think the point of the gym analogy was that it’s often recommended that in order to get the best work out and get the most out of the gym, going at the same time, everyday, is recommend because it helps us get into habits.I don’t quite understand your gym analogy, as it’s best to constantly go to the gym, and you can build strength whenever you go.
