Why is the rosary circular?

I was asked why the rosary is connected in a circular fashion rather than left as a line of beads strung together. Can you help?
 
Each prayer said on the rosary symbolizes a rose woven into a garland of roses mystically offered to the Blessed Virgin. A rosary is circular to symbolize that garland, or wreath, of roses.
