How did the differences between the Catholic Bible and the Protestant Bible come about? I always believed it was when Luther translated the Bible, leaving out books that didn’t support his views. My pastor says it was because 5 of the books were written in Greek instead of Hebrew and that’s why they didn’t think they should be included. Please shed some light on this issue. thank you.

These links should be helpful for explaining the Church’s continued inclusion of the Deuterocanonical books (sometimes referred to by Protestants as the Apocrypha, which BTW can also be found in the actual 1611 edition KJB which are still available.) in the Bible. If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please contact Catholic Answers directly.
