Why is there so much talk of women's ordination?

I was under the impression that the fact that the Catholic Church does not allow women to be priests in a doctrine that has been definitively taught and not a discipline. If this is the case, why is there so much talk of allowing women to be ordained? It can never be changed, right?
 
You are correct that the Church’s teaching that it cannot ordain women is a doctrine and that it cannot be changed. The reason that there is so much “talk” about it is because some people refuse to accept the Church’s direction on the matter and wish to continue to agitate for what the Church has decided is impossible. They are engaged in rebellion against lawful authority, not in genuine discussion.
