This is the most magical prayer ever! Every time I say it, instantly my fears are gone, frustrations gone, worries gone, discontent with my neighbor gone; I become temperate, gentle, hopeful, steady, patient. Now, I especially struggle with discontent with my neighbor. Nothing has ever worked so magically in that respect as this prayer. It’s like, before I pray the prayer, I feel like such and such a person is ruining my life and everything is going to pot, and then as I say the prayer, I don’t even care anymore; I just feel a gentle happiness and hopefulness, and I’m able to think of the person with a warm heart. And it doesn’t take long, either. The prayer works INSTANTLY.

It is the Miraculous Medal Prayer:

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee!

Does anyone else have such experiences?

I could not believe how magical this prayer works for me. It’s like, more powerful than a painkiller, like a divine medicine or something.

Why do you think this is? I am so amazed.

I’m pleased it has such positive effects for you. I must say, I wear the Miraculous Medal and pray it sometimes, it’s never had quite that effect on me.

And a word of warning - don’t ever dare use the word ‘magic’ in association with prayer. Magic means you control the supernatural forces and bend them to your will. Prayer is not at all about controlling God, Mary or any other saint or angel. Quite the opposite, it is about changing ourselves so that our hearts and minds are in line with His will.

Your peace comes from being inspired by the prayer to place your trust in him. For others, other prayers may do the same thing. Nothing special about the particular form of words.

**I agree.

To say a prayer is magical is to indulge in superstition.**

I don’t think the OP really meant ‘magic’ in the occult sense, but more as a figure of speech, as in ‘special’.

Ok, disregarding the word ‘magic’… yes!! Typically it happens to me around the Eucharist(like almost every Sunday!:extrahappy: if I really prepare myself for communion.) and then it’s like I can’t stop smiling because of how wonderful everything is. And I’m sort of a sensitive soul, so when I’m at mass sometimes I’ll tear up at some specific mention about God’s plans for us, or heaven, or Jesus, and it can be a little embarrassing:blush:…

Also I’ve felt like this when: I visited St. Patrick’s, when something really horrific was going on and my sis and I prayed the rosary, and whenever God tries to tell me something and I finally get it! And when I began wearing my St. Benedict medal… I think that’s it.

For me the intense feeling of love, so that it’s like I can hardly breathe from happiness, and then sometimes I’m so happy I cry(not a contradiction!! other women would know:D) So for you it’s a feeling of peace? That’s so nice! I think God touches different parts of our souls, the ones He knows will touch our hearts the most.

No, this is definitely not superstition. I guess the Miraculous Medal is called Miraculous for a reason. I just have never experienced the power of prayer in such an apparent and vehement way before.

Saying this short prayer is like wearing a protective weapon that gently regulates my thoughts and attitudes. It makes me a different person. I am not in a spell.

I guess the Blessed Mother is indeed POWERFUL.
